Poem: "Unordinary Rescue" by Karina L. Perez
With closing eyes and waking hearts,
Your voice comes first,
Followed by your smile.
Your lips, they part...
"Hello, I'm Yours, but call me Inspire."
With puffy eyes and chloride stained cheeks-
I introduce myself as...
"Admirer."
Here, the sky weeps.
Human sobs intertwining,
Is there sanity in desire?
Desire to be a wanderer?
Empty space surrounds the room,
Face to face with closing caskets.
Lips thirst.
The air-dry and cold,
Pushes me to this corner,
Where I'd wish you'd re-appear.
Hands stone blue,
"I'll take care of you."
This second skin...
It warmed.
It numbed.
"Follow me to a city, where the green walls desire you."
I knew it had begun.
