Kashmir Shaivism places a strong emphasis on one’s relationship with the “Shakti”, the Goddess Consciousness. In this approach, all appearances are regarded as “adornments”, more or less slowed-down vibrations, condensed forms of the Goddess consciousness - just as steam, raindrops, and snowflakes are all forms of H2O. We learn to attune to a constant communication, at first veiled, increasingly unveiled, in which there is “no other”. This is nondual devotion, a direct path from the very beginning.
