Continuing with my horribly shot, terribly narrated and poorly edited video series, I now present to you the Kato 10-1762 N scale Lyria Europlex with ESU LokSound installed.
The overall design of the mechanism of this model is quite old so while it has had updates over the years to take NEM decoder plugs, the model itself was never designed for sound installation.
That said, I have a milling machine and with some creative machining, was able to fit an ESU 58823 decoder and SoundTraxx Minicube speaker in the powered mechanism along with an ESU 59120 function decoder for the non powered power car. ESU sound file was V5 file S0201 'S0201-LS5H0M4-Elok-SNCF-TGV-V1-R1'...not sure if that's 100 percent correct, but it's what ESU has for TGV files.
Anywhoo...I think it came out pretty nice. Was an oddball 'one-off' for a good customer. Definately one of the older projects I have sitting here (and by old, maybe 3 months...I don't like to sit on stuff here...).

As always, I hope you learned something. If not, I hope you were amused. That said, I'm going back to my coffee, so have a great day! :)
