Fyi, These and the rest of the Kato Pocket-Line trains can be purchased from Plaza Japan for $26-$38. Options include the trams, small freight trains and small steam and passenger car sets. They can all run on the Kato 117mm and above tracks, so great for micro layouts. Shipping from japan isn't cheap ($30ish) , but if you order enough stuff it is definitely worth it. Thanks for the great video Steve!

@@StevesTrains they always have excellent service. Speaking of which, I just ordered the new alc-42 charger set from them, and the superliner cars fit on the r183 turns, which is great news for all the micro layouts.

Really cool thing- Kato b-b locos also run really well on the 4.5" curves F7, F40 all run really well as do Kato and some Micro-Trains b-b freight cars. So cool!

I bought one of these little trains for my Christmas trolley, works great, and has a flywheel for slower stop and starts.

I just ordered a set one of these trolleys. I own the switcher engine from the Pocket Line series, and was impressed with the quality. They run really well, especially for a budget priced train.

Looks good. I always feel like affordable ones are great for a display layout anyways in case something happens to it.

i have the same track. Is good for small radii and in terms of price a big difference to a model based on the original.

That's a pretty neat tram. I wonder if it could be kit bashed to look like more of a US of A Trolley without messing up the mechanism?

You can actually buy the mechanism by itself and some people buy that and 3D print their own shell.

Steve, whats the footprint of the small winter scene? I like the idea of the Rokuhan controller and making a very portable layout

It was on a serving tray. Maybe 11x17” or something like that.

I noticed you are using a Rokuhan controller. I’m using one also and my Kato Steeplecab and various Kato 11-xxxx chassis run beautifully. I just bought a Kato C11 steamer and it creeps at first, then leaps forward when the headlight comes on. Is the C11 not really compatible with Rokuhan? It works better with my Tomix controller, but the other locos do not.

Interesting, I can’t really comment on that but must be something related to the board in that locomotive or specific requirements of that motor.

Hi Steve can you list the Kato track packs that you used, really interested in producing an Austrian team layout on a small board,

I just bought 8 of the 4.5” (117mm) radius curve tracks which come 4 to a pack. Then I just used some straight sections I already had on hand. I have a bunch of the various short sections that come in a track assortment pack and I used other various short pieces like there 62 mm sections but with the straight pieces you could obviously just use whatever to make things as short or long as you want.

I use different ones. The Rokuhan controllers work great. You probably don’t want to put more than 10 volts through these, so Z scale controllers work great, and other small n scale ones.

Not sure exactly. They may be a little off but are close enough for me not to care either way.
