Man she is a gem... extremely talented in all ways, this is an amazing rendition!

she is wonderful. i love how much of a "sondheim is for actors" extremist she is. people always say his song lyrics are monologues or little plays and she takes that and runs with it. it's difficult for me to get used to esp. in a concert setting like this but once you think of it as like just drama or you could see it being said in a film (the orchestra just elaborating on the argument) she is one of the most thrilling i have seen. it doesn't even feel like a musical like donna murphy does, it feels like a monologue, it is kinda radical

This version is just as mesmerizing and well thought out/acted versions of this song. This up there with Donna Murphy’s rendition especially with how she handed that last “Could I leave you? Yes!”. The thing where she moves her eyes like she’s jokingly thinking it over, then gives an almost snow white ish yes is so original and laugh inducing.

Why is she singing with an accent?

It was kind of a strange vocal inflection that she seemed to have a habit of singing in, but after her work in Company, it's mostly gone.

@@celestelalianna7276 She's American though, born and raised here. Am curious where the accent comes from...

@@celestelalianna7276 No I'm quite sure it's for this specific character. She just tends to play characters with accents.

I guess this was either right after or around when she did The band's visit so the accent kinda lingered.
