First time that I've ever actually heard it played andante as written! Makes it much harder, too.

@@damshek When you play this technique faster (which violinists do), you can sort of get away with just doing string crossings really fast, and the bow will naturally bounce. It's harder to make the bounces even when it's slower.

Whoa. That is insane. Just amazing. And I agree with blackbelt-- hearing it played a little slower than everyone else is cool-- it makes the details come through.

he plays as a guest in prince Orlovsky's fest .. at the Greek National Opera 's production of "Die Fledermaus" of 1997. the pople Sitting behind him are: Paul Zachariades-male alto-as Orlovsky, Soprano miss Irene Tsirakides -as Rosalinde , Soprano Tina Malakate as Ida , and Themis Sermieu-Baritono and a great actor .

Totally agree with you...and as I think it was intended (I think if I remember correctly it is marked Andante....and usually played more with a Presto feeling and breathless speed)

@cornel999: I would guess that this is the ballroom scene (Act III) of The Merry Widow. Hence the "costumes"; and the "soldier wanna be" is most likely Count Danilovitsch.

jeez, what's the deal here? i don't think this is Poughkeepsie. who's the soldier wanna be with the flower and the bling, beckoning everyone to applaud? weird. at least they have good taste in violinists.
