Before you break the bank on an over priced Nord keyboard the Yamaha CP88 every bit as good at half the price. I’ve had mine over a year now and am loving it.

I have this keyboard and one thing I cant fathom is the sound. In your video and others online the SK ex grand, the default piano, sounds clear and clean. On mine it sounds wooly or muddy, not clear. Is it my speakers, my headphones etc? Have you post eq'd the sound. I'm dissapointed with mine because of this and find I'm going back to better vst's. If you have any specific settings on your keyboard, please let me know. 👍

You can adjust the sound in virtual tech if you need to, and also adjust the EQ. Keep in mind turning up the damper resonance can make it sound a little too muddy too so most of the time I leave it set to the 5 which is default. Also, I never really liked using the SKEX personally , I always just stuck with using the default patch, and then I put it on light plus in the virtual tech and that seems to make things sound a little better there to. Each patch is just an equed version of the default patch. A lot lot of people at my church comment me all the time, and they say that it has the most realistic sound. My Church has a Yamaha yc88 but I still choose to play the Kawai over a yc88, but that’s just preference for me

@@Justin_collier I've not touched damper resinance etc, just the Eq. One thing I've also found is, you can set your slider volume down on the main or sub to a lever you want, but soon as you change to another piano patch it comes in very loud until you wiggle the volume slider and it then drops to the set value.

Hey Justin, thanks for the review. I’ve been considering MP7se for a long time. Just the history of reliability issues from the past kept me from buying it. I haven’t heard from any official statements regarding the action has been fixed, a RH3 version 2. Just hearsay that it’s been rectified by the company. Any insights on this issue? Your instrument sounds great… Thanks again.

@@bobbygadourymusic5476 after speaking to a Kawai technical support, professional they fixed that issue on all their boards, and whenever I got mine at the problem was non existent. I got the board aware of the reviews but I got lucky with mine and have not had any issues that was only a problem in their earlier stages of making these boards Thank you for watching. Fwiw, I'm struggling with idea of buying a MP7se because it was released in 2017. And used, there are some early model reliability issues. So a red piano is the next best choice.

@@musiccreation1198 i never had any of those issues with mine luckily. You wouldn’t be disappointed on getting this. It is a fine piano. The sound overall and action are very close to an acoustic instrument and Kawai puts more effort on their pianos than most brands. Alot of other brands have piano patches that sound too synthetic to me but it’s all in preference. Thank you for tuning in

@@Justin_collier I agree with you. The mp7se used prices are getting pretty attractive too. For now I'll sit tight with my Kawai ES920

@@musiccreation1198 i know there are keyboards like the yahama that have better interfaces, i prefer the mp7se because so many people at church make good compliments and tell me how realistic it sounds, my church has also the yahama yc88, i use the kawai more than i find myself using the yahama. The 920 is great, it just dosnt have as many sounds as the mp7. You can find good prices on reverb or ebay

I bought one late last year. It's still the best sounding keyboard on the market today. Nothing else comes close.

Great video ☺️ I used to own an MP11, sold it last year and was gonna buy the MP11SE, haven’t decided yet on the MP7SE, I think the pianos are identical quality, but the keys are better on the MP11SE? If you make a few sounds on the MP7, can you save them onto a USB and then load them into another MP7? how many sounds can you layer together? 😊
@Justin_collier

in another video ill go over how to record to usb but yes you can use a thumb drive, and you can layer up to 4 sounds together, but each layered sound drops polyphony notes by a little bit, and yes you can save all your presets on the mp7se, you can also save power on states, and much more! thanks for tuning in! i hope to get to review more keyboards as time passes and to grow my channel!
