Ok, got both bikes a 2024 ZX4RR and 2 months later a 2024 ZX6R 40th aniv and price difference was $12,400 vs $15.000 OTD for each respectively. The ZX4RR is much more comfortable but feels pretty week with only around 60 hp for watered down US model, quickshift is fantastic on it.The ZX6R has almost double the power and it feels like it, weighs only 14 pounds more, has aluminum frame and swingarm. Guy in charge of quick shift up only on ZX6R should be fired - no excuses!!! Ergos on ZX6R are terrible for street as bars are low and angled way down but Heli bare fixed that and now almost like ZX4RR, also gearing is very short on ZX6 AND I added 1 tooth to countershaft sprocket. Kawasaki has nickel and dimed the ZX4RR with cheap steel parts everywhere - example the lower triple clamp is steel ugggh! The ZX4RR is much heavier than it should be at around 420 lbs. ZX4RR makes a great beginner bike and is very easy to ride but for the money ZX6R wins hands down once you fix quickshift to go up and down and dump ridiculous exhaust for a slip on - this saves 13 lbs.! Kawasaki is cutting corners on both of these and needs to stop this BS but both are great bikes and 40th aniv colors are worth the extra $500😎

Regarding the zx6r, in line 4 600 are dead, suzuki hasn’t updated their in years, cbr the same, tho they are updating it now, Yamaha doesn’t make the R6 (street version) anymore. So Kawasaki updating their engine to be able to make it and sell it should not be considered stupid I think, anyone would prefer that than not selling it just like Yamaha did. Also, there are some dyno runs in KZitem and forums, it has less power on higher rpm’s, but better response/power on mid, which makes it better for the street. Yeah, not better for the track…but tbh most people ride it in the street and won’t be riding it all the time at 260 km/h

I kinda agree about the 6r. Lately I've been wanting an i4, preferably a 600 but kinda disappointed with what's available now. Mainly I just want something somewhat streetable and an up/down quickshifter. (My V2 spoiled me there lol) The new zx6r is currently my top choice mostly because it's a little more updated than the others, but I'm also considering just jumping up to a gsxr1000. I don't need or want the extra power but I sat on one recently and it was pretty comfortable plus it has quickshifter and other modern tech not found on 600s.

The markups are insane! What makes me mad too is if they were upfront about the price in the listings… Theyll run you down the whole process and tell you last minute oh yeah there are $2.1k in fees lol. Kiss my ass! Ive walked out of two dealerships so far. Ill call them straight up before. Seems like used Private Sale is the only way today. Which is a headache in itself.

I agree, and was a kawi devotee. Still own a 2005 zx10r. but did not like my z1000sx performance 2017. Hopes were raised when they announced the return of the zx6r in the UK. Oh dear, they seem to be losing their way. Now looking at Triumph street triple for a newer bike having just test ridden the Z900 that I quite liked. RS against SE??? Got to wonder now reliability is good with modern Triumphs.

I would say that the 400 had a lot of success on the track(maybe more than the zx6?) a lot more people like the small displacement on the track and the 4rr is targeted more for the track and is appeals the this 400 track riders. IMO they leaned more towards making the zx6 balanced for street and track. And the 4rr could leave track guys wanting more and drive more sales of the zx6 especially for new riders and new track riders

As a track guy, I'd want the 4RR more than the Z6.. I can take 4RR to kart tracks near me and big tracks but the 6R won't be possible.. I'll never leave first gear and too much power. I also have my big boy liter bike so maybe this is why I think the way I do. To each their own I guess.

Only complaint about my zx4rr is the seat hurts after a while. It's a nice bike but expensive. I paid msrp + tax, no gouge, central California. Still need to ecu flash. Zx6r, pretty obvious they didn't want to sink money into R&D, they just spruced it up as cheaply as possible. Model is on life support probably.

Alright this bike may or may not be a flop if Kawasaki is doing what I hope they’re doing and coming out with a rr version to fill the gap with the rr line up. If they don’t, it is a flop. It’s already loosing in the middle weight category to the MV AGUSTA f3, Gsxr 750, Ducati V2, triumph 765 moto 2 and when the R9 comes out soon I’m sure the zx6 will be at the bottom. This “new” model lacks in tech and power along with the latest generation zx10r which is costing them in wsbk most liter bike racing categories and middleweight. To me they shouldve came out with a zx7r with ride by wire, the “new” dash, and 6 axis imu.

@@PetroHead If I where in the Uzs I wouldn't pay more than $10,500 for a ZX-4RR. Would probably go for the ZX-6R, although yeah the tech is lacking 😂 I guess that's why it's not too expensive.
