I had a chance to get one of these back in 08 with one mile on it. I ended up getting the VN900. The difference in cost was chump change. I kick myself nearly every time I get on my 900.

Did you need the power commander or have a re tune?

I have never felt the need for a power Commander or any fuel map processing chip. Also I did not need to retune for the pipes. There is ample raw torque in this bike and it keeps pulling all through the Rev range

@@rahulranecool It depends Hammerhead If your VN-1000 is DOT approved for Calif like mine then you definitely need someone like Ivan's ECU to remap. Again I know only about Calf models this bike-in order to be sold in Calif-comes from the factory horribly lean. You'll hear a lot of popping and coughing during throttle off down hill and deceleration. Remapping by a professional is the cheapest performance upgrade you can do and has the most significant results. Your bike will run cooler.
