Love my 2023 ZX-4RR. I’ve been riding for over 23 years. Owned over 20 bikes. The 4RR is one of the top five I’ve ever owned for me.

Sounds a bundle of laughs 👍 It was always said by the manufacturers that it costs much the same to make a sportsbike whether it's a 600 or 1000....so the steel frame and basic suspension are the reason it's £2k less than the zx6r, I can live with that 🙂

Sooooo good to hear it measures up.....I had the same model as the original one you sat on for a good few years, I ran it along side an NC30, I loved the 400 class!!! Might have to consider the new one, if and old codger like you can fit on one, a slightly older codger like me should be able to too🤞🏻😂 as always, thanks for sharing 🏍️😁👍🏻

Sorry Chad, but I must correct you on a small point. It definitely IS 50yr olds that raced the zxr400 that are getting excited by this new 400. You should see the 400 and club race forums, everyone wants one. Turn key ease and reliability for the same(ish) hp, definitely sounds good to me. Hopefully will get one to sit alongside my zxr400 race bike.

No mention of weight comparison. The early bike was fun because the power/weight ratio was spot on . If Kawasaki kept the weight down it will sell well with that price point . Good video

I just picked up one too. It’s a fun bike. People think a 400 can’t be fun but they couldn’t be more wrong. I’m just a regular person not some pro rider so being able to get closer to the limit of this bike is way less dangerous with the same feeling cause I still gotta go to work Monday.

Its a shame that it doesn't have a twin spar alloy frame, fully adjustable suspension, and has gained 10kg over the original zxr400, it weighs the same as a yamaha r7, the main advantage in having a small capacity bike is low weight, but its not really that light.
@HeyAddieImTojo
Жыл бұрын
The question then is if it was 3 grand more, would you buy one? Would anyone?
@benjy288
Жыл бұрын
@@HeyAddieImTojo I wouldn't buy one, I would rather have the yamaha r7, in NZ the r7 is 2 grand cheaper, so you could buy the r7, an after market muffler, get it tuned, and still have money left over, the r7 even has a fully adjustable fork, then you would have a bike that weighs about the same, has about the same hp, but with basically twice as much torque, so it will be a much faster bike in the real world, and this is coming from a 400cc fan too, years ago I used to own a zxr400 and an rvf400.

@benjy288
Жыл бұрын
@@andrewg4412 But its not a big inline 4 engine, its only 399cc, the so called little twin is actually 689cc, the zx4rr weighs the same as a 2003 yamaha r6, which is a 599cc inline 4 with 123 hp at the crank, the zx4rr is anything but light, its actually pretty heavy for what it is.

@@jarlborg1531 150kg, now we're talking, 10kg lighter than the original zxr400, but with 10-15 more hp, but alas kawasaki made this instead, you would probably be better off buying an old yamaha r6, it weighs the same but has 40-50 more hp and about twice the torque, those old 600's were great.

I think this is about 20kg more than the old one, which is a shame. Lack of weight made these such fun to ride and I rode all of the 400s. Still loved the old RGV250 though - that was like a bicycle with an engine and a tiny power band that was such fun to chase. If they had managed to make this lighter then it would have been far better.

@@Chambers36TheEnter I’ve seen a wet weight quoted of 177kg on the original bike, but maybe it was 187kg. I’d like to see someone weigh the new bike - it’s not like manufacturers haven’t been known to be a bit creative with weight figures. Either way, it’s a similar weight to my bike despite having about 700cc less displacement.
