The 2022 duck hunting season is winding down up in the far north with ice and snow starting to lock up water and push the migration south. With just a few days left before the first big winter storm of the year I decided to take the kayak out to a public land marsh in the hopes of getting the first layout kayak duck hunt of the season in. After making quite a few mistakes and watching thousands of mallards fly over our spread, Bonnie and I were left battling ice so I decided to switch gears and try some kayak jump shooting on the way back to the boat launch. It took us a while but we finally found where the mallards and teal were hiding out at and were able to finish off a limit and Bonnie killed it on a few retrieves out of the kayak. Hope you enjoy!
