That's a nice setup on your kayak. I got a Moken 12.5 V2 last spring, and I really like it, but I think adding that big beaver tail rudder will provide a significant improvement for kayak tracking in the wind and maintaining position while fishing in the wind. I was wondering if you have found this to be true. You pointed out some flaws, but it seems you like it with the foot controls. Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!

Man sorry for the delay. You know that's a great question. I have had plenty of time to use this Kayak and I also own the Moken without the rudder. That rudders takes away so much extra work it's crazy. Know more paddle left and right to straighten the Kayak. No more fight wind and it stays on a line with a simple toe press. Great comment for sure👊

Hey Michigan dirt digger and thanks for the question. I'm using an 8' Ascend Tournament series and love it. Perfect length and can be adjusted for feathering. Also it has the Line hooks for lure retrieval and a tape for measuring Fish. I appreciate you watching this Vid and leaving a comment. Be Safe

Think I'm sold on this one. Love my ocean kayak trident 11 but really want another bigger kayak for the lakes and reservoir I fish often. Think I'm going to order this and a island hopper transom motor.

Ya know I was stuck on the Trident for a while THEN ONE DAY I said the heck with it and just ordered the Lure13.5 ...Man I am so glad I did. I have added so many awesome items to it since this video other than lights lol. I still can't drill a hole in it. I'm telling you if you get this thing put the rudder on it and you will never get back in that Trident. It turns on a dime well a quarter but it turns so much better and Wind is not an issue. Thanks for the comment and hope ya come back for another Video👊

@@take2fishing going to keep the trident for rivers. Our rivers are really shallow and I don't want to beat up the new one. Plus I want to add the trolling motor for those long hauls on the reservoir. But will see how that goes, hard to leave the new toy behind. Does the sonor pod touch the water? Trying to decide if I rather just setup the transducer for shoot through ( current one in my trident is shoot through) vs mounting it under the boat. Too many damn rocks in these rivers lol.

Ma n Steve, Sorry to hear. I have not had any more problems once I used the Blue thread lock. A buddy of mine said he had the same issue and he took the screws out and roughed up the thread with 20 Grit said he screwed it in and it felt a little snug so he pulled out the screw and did it again making it even tighter. This MAY be a fix for you. Just be patient when doing it. They are a pain anyway but maybe....But thanks for the comment and I hope you come back for another some time👊

Hey Thanks for the comment for sure. Man I love all of the FellFree lures but hands down the 13.5 is the way to go. With me I decided not to go with the pedal drive so I could use my Sonar. I have heard a few issues with the drive so talk to Customer service and look on FeelFree forums to make certain they have resolved the problems. Hopes this helps and again thanks for the comment.

Ok so I used the track adapters made by Yak-Attack. Really simple to use and my rails are loaded. Dude that's Awesome about the purchase. I ain't kidding it's like a Cadi. K back to the adapters you can find them about 5 in a pack for $10 and I found them at Gander . eBay has them also. But do not subsitute get them and you'll be fine. My bud used toilet flange washers and his Camera is in the lake...

Hey Jon. Man this Kayak is a Beast. It paddles around 4MPH. It is a little slow to start do to size but man let me tell ya. It cuts like a knife, and the Wind is not an issue unless it's Gusting. But even then I'm able to cut across caps or waves like nothing. I have been in so many Kayaks but this is truly by far the best. I actually own 2 of the FeelFree Kayaks this one and the Moken 12' V1 I don't much care for the V2 as much. Thanks for watching and hope this helps...

Well here is the short Version. I had to Remove side doors on Both Cameras 1 for a charge cord ( Rear Camera) and added external Mic on front Camera. So Neither are now Water Proof. As to the battery neither is it Water Proof. But I read were people place a ear plug product that Swimmers use when Swimming it is like a Silicone that can be shaped and create a Water tight fit. But the Sad part if I flip I'm gonna lose a lot of $$$ Thanks for the Comment. Any recommendations let me know and Thanks...

Is that an "Extend a truck" you use to haul the kayak? What is the padding you have on there? Something you bought or made?

Hey Zack ya nailed it. I bought it at Harbor Freight and I think it was like $60.00 also I placed a piece of Pipe foam around it because I thought I was less likely to damage the bottom of the Kayak. i've watched this video a few times now and it is great my set up when i get this yak won't be all that different from this. I was wondering tho after watching several videos of the lure kayaks I had a question on the track system. Most people have had to use the feelfree adapter with aftermarket products I noticed that you don't have any. Do all the scotty products fit in the lure track ok or did you have to modify it at all
@take2fishing
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Brandon awesome question...Google this feelfree track adapter... You should see a photo of an Aluminum adapter small enough to fit in the Feelfree track. You get 6 in a pack for about $8 this is all you need to adapt all Yak Attack items including Scotty mounts as long as ya get the Scotty quick release like I did. This save tons of money and I have them on every thing in the track and a couple spares. I hope this helped ya and come back for another. PS love my Yak👊

Does the velcro you use have an adhesive backing, or are you using something to stick it to the kayak? Going into the 3rd season with my Lure 11.5, and have thought about changing the rudder to the new Beavertail, but haven't completely decided yet.
@take2fishing
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I used a heavy Velcro but I used a product made by Loctite also called Plactis Bonder. It is a 2 part product. A Pen part 1 an Activator then Part 2 a Glue. I picked it up at Home Depot and it hold the hard portion of the Velcro to plastic PERFECT. This will not harm the Kayak surface if used. But once glued on it sticks forever... Use Glue lightly. NOW the beaver tail is Awesome But with the tube for the pull cord on the left rear pulling it up is a pain. If the tube for the pull cord was in the rear center it would have been Super. I would not trade My Lure for Nothing.

What do you think about the pedal drive for the feelfree?
@take2fishing
4 жыл бұрын
Hey James this a GREAT question. I had to determine if I wanted to loose the Pod which I could mount the Depth finder in. Then I had to determine if I wanted to loose foot control for the Rudder and simply control it by hand and guess what? I read that FeelFree was having Sooooo Many issues with the hand control for the Rudder breaking I figured it out. No Pedal Drive For Me..... I have used the Pedal Drive but because I have foot control Rudder I am fine because I can hold my position in the Wind and fight fish. So I hope this helps and Thanks...
