The Dee is an amazing river, I am privileged to have paddled her several time in the early 1980’s

Hmm big winter spates can damage alot of banks and drop trees into the river. The work of clearing them and cutting them up is often done by angling club members in the spring.Of course if any canoeists want to come along with their chain saws ....many hands make light work. Can be a bit hazardous!! Spates can also destroy the salmon redds..which means fewer salmon..... its a major Dee problem..and the deline is saddening and perplexing.

@@simonartley1645 hey Simon, yeah we often have to clear trees out when then fall across the river… certainly makes it interesting when done from a raft ha! We’re part of the river Dee clean up crew too… keep the area looking its best, as it should be ☺️

Great fun if you have appropriate skills for the conditions ,anything above 7 at Mile end is enough for me, where did you get out

We got out after town falls river left, just after the weir (that we avoided!)..... tricky get out to be fair as it was in the trees so you had to hit the line fast and hard! All good though

Am I silly for going down this river and all the challenges including horseshoe falls/serpeants tail in an inflatable kayak? Never the less it was fun, however the levels were no where near in this video.
