the little square drive on that Knipex key is a 5mm square drive for our radiator vent valves in Germany and Austria as they do have a 5mm square head to be twisted this is what it is intended for... something special for our region over here... as this tool is being designed for metric measurements... so the 5mm square might be the only thing you probably might not use in the US at all

7803125 small angle cutters are the best for cutting nylon ties flush so they don't rip your arms open next time you reach past. I use keep them for that purpose alone.
@three-phase562
2 жыл бұрын
Those little cutters are really made for work on electronics equipment, but most people I know use them for ty-raps, much cheaper than a proper ty-rap tensioner and cutter. I am not sure what you have in the states, but the little square drive on the red cap of the panel key fits the small bleed screw in the radiators on our central heating systems installed in the UK. No problem with people cleaning and maintaining their tools, they last longer, work better and shows how someone goes about doing their work and the pride they take in it.

I got those same small diagonal snips but mine were a little offset on the blade edges. I'm not impressed with their performance compared to my $10 Kleins and Snap Ons. I'll post a video tomorrow about them. Cool rooster at 5:10 etc. I miss the farm. But not by much.
@MillisConstruction
2 жыл бұрын
After doing some research and looking mine over, that appears to be a design element and not a defect on this model. I don’t really do snap on (I may start though!). and I had several Klein tools chip edges and screwdriver tips break on me back when my bags were primarily Klein. That was a big reason for my switch to Wera and other drivers also. Sure is a rooster! I normally carefully clip those sounds out but they were on fire that day lol so I left some in to see who would notice 🤣

If you take a look on knipex website, and search for this little snips, you will find that the misalignment in the cutting edge is specially designed this way by knipex. I use my snips every day and I am very comfortable with it. It is not a defect. Shear cut with controlled micro cutting edge misalignment for the most precise cutting of even the thinnest of wires and for a long service life. This is from the description of the tool.

I gotta say i'm a huge fan of knipex tools, always my preferred brand cause they're great quality without being totally overpriced. But the pipe gripping pliers are the most useless tool I ever bought. They just keep on slipping on the smooth finish you're working on, I pinched my hand more than once when they slipped off because of the curved handles, the only way I could get them to work was by removing the little jaw covers, which... just ruins the point cause you're marring the surface again?? I could just use my cobras then... Absolutely not worth the money if you ask me, i've put them in a dark corner somewhere in the shop and don't want to see them ever again
