Yep, done in early cgi by by Information International Inc., who would later provide the CGI effects for Disney's Tron. The logo was rendered on the company's Foonly F1 computer (which a modified DEC KA-10). The logo manages to meet today's standards and it's a surprise that it didn't last longer

@@thetellycrawfish3605 Was just going to mention the same. Information International, Inc. (aka "Triple-I") really was ahead of the curve when it came to 3D volume-rendered ray-traced CGI, considering the technology was practically newborn in the late '70s-early '80s. I believe this KCET ID was made by them in 1981. I think it definitely helped that Triple-I was already a developer & manufacturer of digital imaging equipment for computers in the 60s and 70s (one of the first companies to do so) such as film scanners and recorders, so it was quite logical that they also delved into graphics production for film and TV using their own hardware for such connected to their Foonly, through their Motion Pictures Products Group division (active from 1974-1982, Tron was their last project after MPPGs founders, John Whitney & Gary Demos, left in '82 to form their own CGI studio, Digital Productions) that created animations like this one.
