Chicken kondattam is a quick and easy chicken recipe. It is very popular in Malabar, Kerala. Usually ‘kondattam’ is prepared by using vegetables like bitter guard and lady’s finger by marinating with curd and salt, then dried in sunlight for 4 or 5 days. After that the dried bitter guard or lady’s finger fried with oil called ‘kondattam’.
But this chicken kondattam is entirely different because the chicken pieces fried in batter and sautéed with spices. This chicken item goes well with chapati, bread, rice etc.
