Hell yeah, finally our music tastes overlap! :D Grew up heavy into this type of screamo/skramz. Would love to see you do a theme week on it if you haven't already. See also: I Hate Myself, Pg 99, Orchcid, Saetia, Envy, Kodan Armada, City of Caterpillar, Joshua Fit for Battle, Suis La Lune, Ampere, and so many others

These are all great recommendations. I'll add Who Calls So Loud - iirc they had the same drummer as Funeral Diner. Their LP is a journey.

i never thought i'd ever see one of my favourite bands of all time featured in a reactions vid! legit getting goosebumps listening to this again. if you like this, i'd recommend Fading Away Like The Rest Of Them by the band Neil Perry.

Another really good screamo band like this is Envy. They’ve been going for almost 30 years now and they lean more on this slower and more atmospheric kind of style as well.

Definitely check their album The Underdark. The track It Is Good That We Never Met is fantastic, one of my favorite screamo songs.

This early 2000s screamo scene rules. Highly recommend Orchid and Jerome's Dream (notorious for their vocalist not using a mic during shows) and maybe some later 2010ish stuff like Loma Prieta too.

Love funeral diner! My personal favorite screamo band is Suis la Lune, Cornea is good starter song. Melodic guitars and great bass work

thank you for this review, one of my favourite songs :) i would like to suggest also Terre promise by Le pré où je suis mort - another skramz band from around the same time I think. There were many great French (or francophone) screamo groups making good music in those days. I think that partial translations of the lyrics can be found online if you want as well. I don't think that this group is as well known as like Amanda Woodward and that sort of thing, but I really love their stuff and the vocals are fantastic

This reminds me a lot of stuff like Gospel or Ten Grand btw you know what my long-time rec is, but is there a particular place where they should be submitted? :D

Aside from purchasing a Special Selection there isn't a formal place to request songs. Just drop the requests in the comments, as you've been doing :)

Im surprised you like screamo lmao. But considering the melodic and rhythmic variance of it I guess it makes sense. I specially love the syncopation of the drums. The genre is a gem for really dynamic hardcore, two guitars and heavy syncopation are standard and it lends itself to very interesting sonic exploration.

City Of Caterpillar 's A Little Goes A Long Way, Circle Takes The Square's Interview At The Ruins, and of course Saetia's Some Natures Catch No Plagues are good tracks Would love more first wave screamo reactions on here, Orchid's Gatefold album and Jerome's Dream new release are good full albums to start with, I would recommend you their first release Seeing Means More Than Safety, but the vocal style on it would definitely turn you off (I'm a big fan personally but it has often been compared to a rooster)

If you love this youll love the band Yaphet Kotto!! Also hard to find but their stuff should be on youtube. Are You Still Working At That Cafe is my favorite song, its so joyful and fun while also slightly melancholic like this song. Lots of great bands in this genre.

Not to be confused with the actor Yaphet Kotto which they're named after lol. Probably why it's so hard to find their stuff

You should listen to some of the early work of mewithoutYou. (Well, you should hear all their music, but the first album is a bit like this) Silencer or gentleman is probably my favorite track from that album. Do note, the band changed a lot over the years, for the better, I argue. They are much less screamo than this, but it's a similar raw vibe for me.

Just finding this video, PLEASE do more skramz. Check out girlfriends (jerry joiner), I Hate Myself, or The Lazarus Plot. All extremely good bands that fit in this genre! I think you'll be particularly impressed with girlfriends!!

Music's not bad, though definitely rough around the edges, but the lo-fi production really hurts my ability to enjoy the track. Could probably enjoy this with better production and perhaps a bit more refined musicianship, but as it's definitely going for more of that raw, punky, emotive side of the spectrum rather than the polished side.

Based on how you've reacted to tally hall, will wood, and a few others, i think you'd either love or hate Chonny Jash. He has a few originals, but most of his stuff is covers with changed lyrics as of now. CCCC or C⁴ is the most popular cover album he's done, although i would recommend the power hours as well.
