I could use a few callings out. That actually makes sense. Not to divert attention away from the call outer... Or a direct confrontation. Not throwing hints in hopes I figure it out. 🦀 No one that’s here tho. Y’all cool... I may display blatantly obvious signs. But mostly people like to chop at elevations. Not the shortcomings... Mainly because of the insecurities that they have. I smoke. When I stopped and switched to vaping all I heard was accusations of how it’s this and that. When cigarettes are proven to be deadly. The government even doctors lied on it. Regulated it for the tobacco industry money. Now everyone just wants to be right... Even if they’re wrong. So they usually want everyone to be wrong because now they can’t get right...

New York is definitely cold. Very shysty or unfriendly people. Back when especially. One thing I noticed in the South is people can break in any place. But don’t. New York Apartments have a downstairs buzzer or doorman. You have to announce yourself before you can even enter the building. The doors are metal with at least 2 locks and a chain, with deadbolt lock sometimes. And people still get robbed. And you can’t shoot them legally. Southern communities are watchful and armed. If you need help you get help. Most of the time we are the bad ones moving in, not moving in a bad neighborhood....

I wasn't okay with advice from people close to me, bc I wanted blind support. But as I get older I realize the opposite of love is actually indifference. So people can choose to ignore things they know you need to become aware of and not say anything, no sweat. But people who really care about you and are invested in your success won't miss the chance to give you some tough love if it will help your future.

Adrienne's perspective is definitely a NYC thing. I was born and raised there and I understand where she's coming from. When I moved to CT as an adult, it was so weird for me how friendly the neighbors are and they have a desire to know you and help you if you need it. I think it's just the sweetest thing. Especially when you have kids, it's so good to know that there are other mothers and fathers in the neighborhood who will watch out for your kids and take on that responsible role for your child whenever you're not there. Imagine if you were running late from work one day and need someone to go pick up your kid from the bus stop and keep them for a little bit until you get home, it's so good to have someone dependable nearby. In NYC, the kids are so independent, they stay home alone, they take the bus and trains alone, they cross the street on their own, it's a completely different upbringing and environment.

Adrienne feels that way because she's from New York that's how New York is and much of the East Coast. And then to add to that she's a little bit younger at the end of the day Adrienne is still considered a millennial and most millennials are not neighborly. They don't carry that same tradition as the previous generations. They don't really care about what their neighbor does as long as it doesn't affect them.

We went back home (Nigeria) for a hike and while we were there a few of our neighbours sorted out our garden(we are not gardeners in our house). They plant stuff for us, sweep the leaves in our driveway. I can count the number of times I've put the bins(trash/rubbish) out because they always do it. There was a small fire in the house, half the street came out to help me(I was around 13) they knew I was home alone from school.

Adrienne, it isn't just about whether you want to get to know your neighbours and hang out.. maybe think of how you could be of help to them? E.g. a single mum with children or an elderly couple. I'm from the UK and we aren't as social and friendly as the Americans especially with neighbours, (NY x 100). However, we all know of eachother, say hello on the street and have small talk. On Christmas everyone sends cards/chocolates etc and it's a nice sense of community.

It's actually a huge blessing to have good neighbors, neighbors you know.

I swear some people just hate making new friends. Neighbours are amazing when you actually reach out to them and make an effort. I don’t have family or friends where I live so meeting people and hanging out is very important to me right now. It can also help make people more open minded about different cultures. Like what Jennie was talking about, if you don’t make some effort, people will fear you and that leads to always getting the cops called over to your house from the slightest noise. A will probably change her opinion once she has a kid. You want to know if your neighbours are trustworthy and if an emergency happens that your kid can feel comfortable going to them to ask for help. I’ve had friends grow up saying that even tho they where told who their neighbours where, they never saw or spoke to the prier to the emergency.

I think you genuinely have to be a people person. Im a New Yorker , we tend to be “about ourselves” in a way. I don’t care to know the neighbors bc like A said they get comfortable . Or you feel obligated to say Hi every single time. But I will say I have no kids neither does Adrienne so maybe it will change when we have children. If you live in a poppin neighborhood this might be worth it. But in the hood it’s not that deep. I can’t think of any reason I would need them. & if I do I’ll just knock on their door.

Entitled people feel superior to the rest of society...and remember that the US is a melting pot. Your norm may be different from mine. And in the US, there is a NOISE curfew. Cities and towns have their specific noise regulations & in the US making excessive noise past curfew is considered a DISTURBANCE TO PEACE offense. If a cop comes to your house, they normally just check-in on the noise complaint and give a warning to turn it down. Thats all..I think it's a fair and reasonable regulation especially when people have elders, newborns and animals that are more fragile to noise levels.

Trash evey where (that blows in my yard) constant fights (not just yelling) cops know them by name. They moved away from their last neighborhood (same town) because the son and dad had a Legit shoot out (they're out on bond and court dates keep getting pushed back) and a girl has bullet fragments in her chest . I KNOW my neighbors though I don't even know their names.

I agree, and she rambles and takes over the conversation lately. She seems a bit more bougie nowadays

@@kena6984 I mean she is but most of the times seems like shes being truthful and honest and what not lol I use to misuge when I first came on during this season since Im new but when I actually took time to listen to what she has to say some of the things she be saying be sounding real and honest half of the time sometimes they seem really sincere in some episodes lol

My ex didn’t want me to call stuff out at all.. emphasis on ex. I was always loving... he just wanted me to accept his bad behavior so I dumped him. I always supporting him and wanted him to grow. But he wanted me to settle. Adrienne said Bel-air, lol. Wow lol you girl, from where you came from..

I'm like Adrienne. Never related more. But that's just because I need to be informed first. Like don't just drop by! Gimme a notice or something! 😕

You know that calling you out statement from the first topic is always is not always easy tbh. Its always easier said then done in situations like this and they all know talking about all me out yet they'll probably be the first ones to get upset 😊😭😏🥴 like we all do. I mean I like them all in a sense I'm just saying!

Can your friend be honest and tell you they're uncomfortable around your boyfriend/mate, without you getting mad at them? That's would be my question.

I've been trying to figure out for the longest what show Jeannie Mai is from, I used to watch her show "How do I look?" long time ago! She used to have this very nice blue undertone/streaks to her hair.
