That 22 year old cop has so much talent and calmness, literally calms my anxiety watching him police around 😂😅🤣 like never would I think to say that, but it’s true! He’s got a story, I bet, like a dad or mom that made him be a child-parent for their adult-child ways. 🤷🏻♀️

Driving under the influence of any substance that impairs your ability to operate a motor vehicle safely, including meth, is a crime. Thank you to the good police officers of Wausau.

It’s amazing what happens when you’re not being a dick to the police. Warnings, no arrests, opportunities to park a car and not get it towed. Then you have idiots who think arguing in the moment will get them somewhere. I remember my dad telling me when I was a kid. “Be respectful, answer all questions honestly and if you think they were in the wrong you can file a complaint AFTER and if you’re arrested or ticketed you have a court date to plead your case. Arguing with police in the moment gets you nowhere.” It’s not difficult to be a decent person

why did that cop let the guy drive away with just a ticket for not having a license? isn't driving without a license an arrestable offense and the vehicle needs to be towed?

Keep your hands IN your pockets. We do NOT by law, have to obey police until we have committed a crime. Most police do not know that until that time, WE are the boss (of ourselves), not them. We decide where we go and what we do. Most police don't understand the 2 basics, first of all, we do NOT have to ID unless we are being BOOKED for a crime. (4th amendment) The police also often don't get that there are laws in place controlling detainment, and an officer cannot just detain anyone whenever he or she feels like it. Most police are completely in the dark about those restrictions. I am not anti police. I am anti uninformed, or bad police. I love the good officers. We the citizens often know more about the law than the cops, and it should be a tool they use to say "I don't know, let me find out". The rest of us need that tool, it's name is humility. No human knows everything. Police officers or not.

I appreciate your perspective. We are sharing a small snippet of an incident, this you saw about a minute leading up to this moment when in real time the officer had been out with him for several minutes. The officer had observed signs of impairment and intended to do field sobriety testing. The man also showed up on probation/parole with a probation rule of "no bars" even though he had just told the officer he had left a bar and was on his way to a bar across the street from the traffic stop. The officer had many reasons to detain the man and when he took control of the mans arm to do so, the man pulled away and stepped away, whilst taking his right hand and throwing a meth pipe to the ground. It may be hard to see from this angle but I did share a still shot from the officers squad on our Facebook page about this post. Meanwhile Officer Karlen did not let go and and with this resistive behavior took the man to the ground to effect the arrest. The officer had the authority to detain in that moment, the man did not have the right to pull away from the officer when he attempted to do so. But thank you for your question and perspective.

You must be dumb. Keeping your hands out of your pockets is not something difficult for people to do. It’s common tactic for officer safety. Stop trying to make everything out to be cops are overcontrolling.
