Just want to say how much I enjoy your videos: the narration, the music, the quiet solitude of sailing a small boat well, everything! Thank you so much!

New subscriber here. I enjoyed this video. Nice music, nice narration, good mix of visuals and scenes shown by the camera, the Google map aerial views help the viewer follow the route, nice interactions with your friends. Enjoyed the walk around the boat yard, with the viewing of the mix of old boats. Nice description of the Solent too. Well done!

Maybe the best coastal sailing videos on the web. There's a sense of nostalgia about them that makes one think of youthful summer days. Always a treat to watch. Thanks for your efforts. You inspire many of us.

Just came upon your site and thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes. Nicely done! The tour of the boat yard was quite interesting - all the shoal draft boats and many with bilge keels. They would be very handy here in coastal Florida where shoal drafts are an asset, yet the majority of the boats are full keel or shoal keel and centerboard. I think you chaps have it right. Fair winds to you!

boats that fall over when the water goes away are not much use to a shallow sailor. twin keel yachts need to be sailed fairly flat to get any performance out of them. Slightly more demanding up wind. you have joined in the middle so I would follow through the now and then go back to the then - 2008 when the films start. Although if I were you7 I would skip the first two seasons - the are only in SD - which now looks pretty soupy. Try watching the films on a big telly if you can - they look much better that way

Hi Thankyou for such an awesome video one of the best ones yet ! I've been bitten by the bug and currently sailing lakes until I feel good enough to move to coastal. Your videos are easy to follow and probably without you realising I'm picking up tips and learning new things on every video. I've a few to watch yet to catch up with your travels and I'm looking forward to them very much ! safe winds Chris PS if you ever would like a companion for a small trip I'd be available anytime and also pay my dues of course (pick your brains at the same time) Thank you very much !!

+Chris Atkin sailing is easy... buy a boat quickly... time is of the essence. Buy a westerly Nimrod or a Swift 18 with a reliable engine.Take it to an estuary. Motor upwind, unroll a sail and drift downwind. You are now a sailor. After that just a small tweak on your technique and you are in business. This is the place to find you little yacht Dylan PS thanks for your generous contributions towards the making of the films - you are a very fine man indeed

I promised the bloke that I would sell it on the open market and give him half of whatever it fetched - it went for £8,000 in the end. I liked the boat so much - I have bought another one for 4K details of that one on the website razzorbladz

I enjoy your peace you offer, found you last night and started with this series. As for the music, very beautiful, taking a craft out for the first time, a time of uncertainty requires leaning on the everlasting arms.

Excellent video. I've been following you for about 6 months and I'm a bit confused. Is the boat shown in the past two videos a new boat and was the older KTL the 22 foot boat you mentioned in part 1? I thought you did your refit in 2013. Also do you have to pay license fees for the music you use, it really sets a great tone for your videos.

This Centaur is now up for sale in Glasgow after getting us safely to Shetland. Katie L has been sailed by a scottish friend in Edinburgh. As soon as the Centaur is sold then I will be back sailing in the Minstrel - which I will take through the canals to the west coast of scotland as for music - the film now belongs to google because I have used music that is licensed to them

it is easy buy a 16 to 20 foot boat with a reliable engine.Launch the boat - motor against the wind - then turn off the engine, unroll some genoa and sail downwind. Repeat as necessary. Sailing is easy, sailing is simple. D

Would you mind awfully if I skipped the 16 - 20ft bit and went straight for a Westerly? I'm well into middle age and I reckon it might be better to learn on the job. I'm trawling eBay like a mad stalker. I've subscribed to you at season 7, after putting in Westerly Centaur in the search box. I am absolutely loving your videos. Season 8 starts tomorrow.
