Its helpful to have references, and normally Steve provides them. The t9i is a pretty relevant comparison as it is priced similarly, has a good reputation, actually has larger driver area, but a less impressive spec sheet. Even the t7i is relevant because Steve has a pair and knows them well The whole point of watching to one of Steve's videos is to get what you can't get from the spec sheet and the company promo videos, and I didn't get that from this video.

Describe the cone material, etc. No, all we get is gushing praise of every product like; the mids sound like honey covered doughnuts, smooth yet sweet. The lows have brown texture to them and the highs taste like unicorn tears. WTF? And don't tell me to go and "audition" speakers right now in the middle of a COVID pandemic when all my local stores are closed. The closest reviewer that is down to earth with the people right now is the cheapaudioman, but even he might get a taste of fame and fly into the sun. I think you missed a trick with the RCAs, the high pass filter. Connecting the line outs onwards to the stereo speakers allows the subwoofer to filter out the low frequencies those speakers may not be able to do properly. I have to disagree too. I think he reviewed this sub exactly for it's intended use...to pair with satellites in a 2 speaker system in an average sized room. I'm sure you could integrate this sub with larger speakers, but then there would be diminishing returns in that application. Speed is an irrelevant and misunderstood concept. Ported subs have just as much speed as sealed...watch the video by Audioholics as they support it with data. As for detail, he talked about the detail in the video and the texture it added to the synth music and Aphex Twin ambient stuff. As for room limitations, he is using it in an average-sized room. If you have 20 x 30 cavernous room, that a pretty special circumstance as most people don't have that.

Earbuds for Kef M400 250 euros for a pair of earbuds in replacement, for headphones bought new 50 euros (original price of the headphone 250 euros, or the price of this spare part), while the leatherette is very thin and quickly detaches itself? I expected about ten euros, which I usually put in the competing models. 25 euros would have seemed very expensive, too expensive considering the poor quality, but 250 euros (240 Pounds) is unfortunately not a joke, but an incredible bullshit and a deliberate merchant choice that corresponds to wear and tear. I have always been faithful to the Kef brand for 40 years, but I understand that we are actually taken for pigeons, frankly it is like urinating on us. Fortunately Kef is not a car manufacturer, he would sell the 4 tires at the same price as the new car! Also, we notice that the construction of these earpieces does not correspond to what they seem to be, that is to say a natural rubber of good thickness to withstand time. In short, a good sound quality, but of the whole issue manufacturing, and a sales policy that is obvious robbery.

Also very surprisingly, despite the fact that many users complain about this problem (it's not my hallucination) is that almost no one speaks about this problem here, starting with Steve Guttenberg! This situation is not acceptable for a company with 60 years of history, which has produced excellent products and some sold for many thousands of $/£/€. Thanks Steve. How they combined both drivers into a single motor system with overlapping, concentrically arranged voice coils is very innovative IMO, though barely mentioned...Obviously not a big deal to Steve, 😆 I think it’s really cool! I haven’t had the pleasure of being exposed to all the tech Steve has reviewed.

@Steve, any idea on how the sound quality compared to SVS / REL Sub's ? was it able to hit less than 20 Hz ... ? How was it compared to a normal subwoofer? like 12" or 15"

Why not just buy the kef q950 towers and skip the over priced sub and bookshelfs 🤔

The price stops me. My wallet not that fat. It would be a perfect match here in my studio with my Martin Logan Motion 15i's. Went with a REL.

Or......get a svs sb3000 for $500 less.....much better value. Then might as well get an incredible blend of 2 svs for $500 more while you are at it.

I love subs ... for music and HT but the use is a bit different. So I got 4 fast REL subs for music and 1 large/ported SVS sub for movies. Bliss!

Do you think KC62 would complement my KEF LSX speakers or is it too much for them?

Try to listen to some of Yello's music Steve. I sat and listened 2 hours to subsonic orgasms. Holy cow KC 62 is gonna be my next subwoofer. I have never heard a sub that agile and clean. It's your videos, that has done that I bought KEF LS 50W II, and now you steered me against this little wonder. Thanks so much .

@steveguttenbergaudiophiliac What TOOK me so long?? I've been tuning into your great reviews here for years and I JUST subscribed ! This KEF KC62 . . . first, 11 hz is not audible to us mere mortals so whether KEF is making that number up is purely academic anyway but it's hard to reconcile that number considering the size of the KC62. The Dynaudio Heritage Special is SUCH a beautifully balanced speaker according to your recent review. Did the KC62 in ANY WAY mess with the Heritage's sound and how does the KC62 measure up to any REL that you've played with?

Adding a REL Q400 2 years ago (specified at 30 Kg net nude! really, a two man lift (or you can walk it on it's corners ..as one does) & gr8 con' so a very successful (for a change!) eBay buy at a 1/3'ish £350 vs £1000 when new but at least 15 or maybe up to 20? years old now, working fine but I guess subs are probably much better now for a much lower price. It's ran from Amp's speaker posts as Rel recommends in user manual. At once when it was properly dialed in, phased & neccessarily placed to rear & side of my right speaker, nearly fully in a corner but pulled out 4 to 6 inches i.e. as much as I dare without getting nagged (no other practicle choice, & I'm told corner placement is the worst place for a sub). But what really surprised me most was getting a sense of the concert hall size in orchestral & smaller chamber orchestra from vinyl recordings as always... (my CD's are kept in the car now, once in a while I'll fancy hearing one & fetch it in) ...esp' on recordings done in the larger concert halls. Even cellos of quartets recorded wherever came more alive with their woody low resonance giving them more "body" & a physical like presence. And my Tannoy 15" M.Golds are not particular bass shy but surely lack something below my aprox 55 - 60Hz setting point. With rock & pop ...yeah, ok & sometimes 'meh' but I'm enjoying classical music & unplugged bands, accoustic stuff like never before the sub's addition. I could just fit 2 of these small KEF subs next to & a bit back from each speaker. That's not going to happen fast less I win the lottery I never do🤪

Hi Steve. I am in the market to upgrade my system. In your opinion, would it make more sense for me to upgrade my preamp or poweramp? I am considering an upgrade of ARC LS26 to an Allnic or Cary SLP05 OR Upgrading my Proceed AMP to a Pass Lab XA25. Thanks!!! My system consists of Maggies 3.5R and running brinkman bardo with Benz LPS cartridge.

@Steve Guttenberg I thought to ask you when I saw your LS50 Meta review about what about to use them with a subwofer. At the end of the video you commented it. Now we have here the KC62. Now I have another question to you... What do you think about the KEF KC62 compared with Rel?

Where'd you get that guitar shirt? Great shirt, only in the city, right? Do you put lights on that tree, behind you . . . at Christmas? Never saw so many headphones in one place. I'd have to listen to music, constantly for the rest of my life, including sleep time, to hear them all! 🤓! . . .

Love your channel. I've got an old amp. NAD C370. If I wanted to add a sub could I just add it to the Speaker B output or would the Preout 1 or 2 be possible or better.

Good review but Steve did not address the fact that this mouse-sized sub comes with an 11Hz elephant in the room. It is not even needed to do objective measurements for this. One should easily notice if there are sounds or sensations that he has not experienced before. I doubt he has had any other sub in his apartment that claims -3dB at 11Hz. Does this sub deliver or not? That's what everyone wants to know.
