I own the kc62 and have read some complaints about how the sub will just power off if the volume is too low. It is true, that when you are playing at low volume levels, the sub shuts off. But why not? We're talking about a pretty quiet level here. But the actual bonus of this feature is the fact that once you power up the sub the light only stays on briefly. So it's easy to forget it's on, when you quit listening. So, instead of having your sub on all night, it automatically shuts down for you.

Yes, a lot of subs are powering off on very low-level signals. They have an auto-standby system. I think you can switch off this protection. But there is no need to have a sub when you play in low levels.

It's impossible that a subwoofer this size can produce enough spl at lower frequencies. They are to small to move so much air. To feel frequencies below the 35hz you need a big volume of air. Its for that reason that brands make big subwoofers with more that 10" of diameter. If they are small you cannot feel the low frequencies (the air pressure passing through you).

I have this one as well. I notice something is running inside very low after playing for awhile. it sounds like a fan running. I hear it when the music is stopped. Did you notice it on yours?

That noise is gone if you switch from LFE to manual mode (on the back of the subwoofer), or if you lower the volume on the back of the woofer.. Mine also Pops when coming out if standby. Did you change it since then, or same woofer?

@@norbinw I use L/R to connect to L/R on my stereo Pre-amp, so I am on Manual Mode the whole time. The low running noise seems to be from the digital Amp. I have another digital amp from Peachtree Audio makes similar low noise. I guess the electrical current that makes the noise in digital Amp.
