Just like you, I voted for Brexit and would do so again, my main concerns were the control the EU was having on us and border control, I wanted immigration down, well that didn't work! 🙄 and I am going to be very unhappy if we end up with a pseudo reintegration with the EU! It's not what we voted for, and ignoring our democratic vote will lead to many upset people in my opinion, including me!

Strange thing to say when you consider his first week in office: appoints an actual KC to legal top job (attorney general) in government, appointed an actual scientist as Minister for Science AND appoints a guy with expertise of the prison system as his prisons minister!
I voted for Brexit and I am not happy that this idiotic government may be doing it's usual and ignoring the peoples wishes. Brexit was a one off vote and not for question by any political party. It would make more sense for the political parties to look at the invasion on our shores and stop the boats. The politician's may not care about the way other countries see us and laugh at us, but I am sure the British people do.

Only once we have left can we decide whether it was a good idea or whether Farage was lying. Why are we bound by the dead or just your view? Why can't the youngsters have a view? Are you suggesting we don't have elections? Then there is PR - that was rejected in 2011, but Farage seems keen on it now.

@@tomnicholson2115 Where do you get "once in a lifetime"? Foreign policy is a Crown power exercised by the government. It was an advisory vote and UKIP were not going to stop. Indeed, we had a referendum in 1975, but the demands for another were starting in the late 90s. Why should we be bound by a vote when the consequences were only apparent once it was implemented. Why stick with a failed strategy?

The Netherlands and Poland have some useful solutions being put into practice and there's video's on KZitem that show what policies are being used, problem is our current UK government is highly unlikely to implement such solutions!

@@tomnicholson2115 Our new government have already stated that they want to cosy up further with the EU. That Is a good aim, if it is restricted to trade and mutually beneficial arrangements. For me, it is the unrequested political power grab that goes along with it that makes it unacceptable. The corruption of some of the Commissioners, is beginning to surface so we watch as interested observers.

Aussie and NZ TV anchors were openly laughing about how good the terms were they received? The Japan deal gives us the quotas left over from the EU deal. There is no US deal, despite Nigel's promises.

As for Nigel Farage's deals with America do tell what and when he had the power to make such deals, we voted for the traitorous Tories to get Brexit done and do such deals, but they failed miserably because they never expected we'd vote to leave they also failed miserably to get immigration under control, so many broken promises and that's why they've been decimated, because those Brexit voters that were betrayed will never ever trust them again! I think this is becoming a new norm. In Australia we had a referendum on The voice. It was lost, but all it changed was the government's approach It moved it to the states and they'll get what they wanted. Our government is legally obliged to heed the result of a referendum......

There was always a reason why they were unable/unwilling to take all those EU laws and rules off the books, the same reason we all had that uneasy feeling we never fully left in the first place, the answer is as plain as day they knew when Labour finally got in it would be a reset, if Labour don't honour a peoples referendum then did people really vote them in or was it just their turn regardless of how the country voted.

I think with voices coming out of the US from the Trump camp saying it’s cutting Ukraine off etc Europe can’t just go on isolated in separate small-medium sized countries. As there’s nothing to discourage Russia kicking on and attacking Poland as Ukraine will be totally defeated and subjugates if Trump gets in. So there has to be some sort of defence cooperation with UK, France and Germany getting their fingers out together.

So, what was that "political control" - if we were not a sovereign nation, how could we have a referendum to leave? I am starting to think that you are not well-informed. You might well vote the same, but polls consistently show 55:33 in favour of rejoining. So, if you oppose a political union, could you tell us about the United Kingdom? Perhaps you would prefer the 7 Anglo--Saxon kingdoms? How are you going to "take away the end product"? It would require international cooperation. So, why do you think the votes of long-dead people should be binding? As David Davies said "A democracy, which cannot change its mind, is not a democracy". After all, none of the promises made by Farage and co have come to pass. Indeed, we have just damaged our economy, trebled immigration and reduced our standing in the world.

The idea is improve trade and cut down on delays on borders for goods moving both ways as I understand it. No mention of rejoining EU.
