Keith has always been about the Blues; it's in his blood and soul. He learned from our own great Blues musicians that never got the recognition or respect they deserved. Keith, and the rest of the Stones, gave it new life at the time, and we can all be thankful for that.

First, Keith Richards was , is and most likely always will be the best white rhythm guitar player ever. Second, Keith is among the best lead players of any color ever. Third, Keith and Pete Townshend played two completely different parts in their respective bands. John Entwhistle and Keith Moon played more lead parts than Pete. Pete was as great at what Pete does, as Keith is at what Keith does. Apples and Oranges. Both taste great. And that is Steve Cropper on the right. 2nd best white boy ever

I just listened to Freddie King singing this. 3rd line/2nd verse he says - "aaahhh I'm going to slip on down to between your thighs" "lap up all the sweet honey you made just for me" Chorus - "I'm going down.....down, down, down, down, down" You know, things like that often times need to be pre-announced, just in case there might be any unwilling participants. This way at least they're given the opportunity to fake a state of comatose.

He'd been playing with the Winos and the Stones - he was still spry and truly clean. Also how many times does Richards actually play songs without playing rhythm? I remember listening to this live on 102.7FM in NY. Another thought is that the progression is as simple as can be, so soloing over it becomes a matter of sequencing about 6 notes, which is still an art, and Keith does it well here, but no one's mistaking him for Jim Hall anytime soon.
