I pulled mine out of the box, disassembled it, oiled/cleaned, and reassembled. Next day to the range no gas adjustment for unsuspected attached the suppressor and no gas adjustment. It runs all day long, have to say I love this gun

That is good to hear, mine is still plugging away with no issues as well! Tbh i haven't heard much negatives on current production RDB'S! I have not set mine up to be a suppressor host, but it is tempting.

I’ve owned my RDB since 2018 and I was neglecting my AR’s so I took them out a couple times just to miss my RDB. as long as you know about the gas system adjustments, this gun is fun and reliable. I’ve outfitted my RDB with the pad for cheek rest, Kel-tec forend, magwell extended well, qb mount on forend, Haga Defense butt stock and a small vertical grip. I had the primary arms acss etched radical optic with a three times magnifier behind it, but with the length of pull it was not ideal for I relief and I went back to a hollow Sun solar, powered red dot.

A put a handguard from lucky Irishman on mine, along with an M lock rail for a vertical grip. I was going to change out the trigger, but the stock one is just fine.

Seems like a common issue. Such an easy fix too....not sure why Kel Tec does not do this at the factory. One less minor issue for haters to complain about. How is the reliability with tour RDB?
@mrsnickers2003

@@Welder6131 Very reliable. I replaced the plastic hand guard with the Lucky Irishman Raptor rail, and use a Linear comp to direct blast forward. I run a Vortex red dot in conjunction with a 3x flip up magnifier.

I bought mine in 2019, had double feeds 2 to 3 times every mag, so I finally sent it back to Keltec on the 1st, and it took 1 day for them to "repair" and return it. It should arrive Wed, hopefully running 100%

@@Welder6131 Yea..They will work with steel...I did a mag dump with Tula in mine..They function. I usually give it a couple clicks more of gas..But I dont feed anything steel (Even my 308s) except my Ak.

@@Odinforever2000 i don't usually run 5.56 steel just because brass was always plentiful, just like 7.62x39 steel is for the Ak. I would not be opposed to running 5.56 steel if i stumble across a case either. Like they always say, if it won't run steel it don't deserve brass! ;)

about the red dot. Look through it and rotate the rifle 1/4 turn. if there is a odd shape here and there but they stay in the same place when you rotate it, it's an indication of astigmatism. I have a minor issue with that.

In my experience, I started seeing a small amount of case-denting after 1500 rounds without cleaning. I am still running factory gas setting and a dog’s breakfast of 55 grain ammunition. I also use grease rather than oil on the action. So, YMMV, but a wipe-down and re-lubrication is in my future. Also, IMHO, the Keltec M-Lok foregrip and mag-well “extension” are good upgrades (the mag-well extension is 3D printed, so you maybe able to make it yourself.)
@Welder6131

Yeah i checked out lucky irishman flared magwell, but don't care for the design....Dan Haga designs has a good looking flared magwell, but wasn't sure how durable it was. Which one do you own?
@detritus23
4 жыл бұрын
Welder6131 I purchased the Kel Tec magwell extension. In hindsight, I could have probably printed my own design. It is pretty good for what it is (a 3D printed item in carbon fiber impregnated nylon). It does help with getting the new mag into the well on a “blind” reload. As for durability, it hasn’t broken yet, but I haven’t slammed it around too violently, either. I didn’t know about DH design. Upside: it looks more durable than Keltec’s design. Downsides: it has a narrower flare and costs twice as much. Probably swings-and-roundabouts, though. I looked at the Lucky Irishman designs as well, but I didn’t like the foregrips. Also, they weren’t the most responsive to my questions.
