It's mind-boggling that this video has less than 200 views. I'm interviewing at Google and this inspires me to work harder to get an offer and Kelsey doesn't even work there anymore.

This bit @10:00 is gold and we all need to engrave it one the back of our eyelids. Hit the level cap in your domain.

As a long term Google/KZitem employee, a lot of this resonates with me. Great interview!!

Have been following Kelsey on twitter for a while, but this is the first time I see him speak so honestly and it's really refreshing to see an (unfortunately) ex-lead at Google think this way. The part about people focusing on process rather than building better products and really getting better at the craft of building software really rings true.

Glad to stumble upon this conversation today ❤ Kelsey was super kind to speak with me back in 2020 when I was new to SRE and the cloud-native landscape. I didn’t even have my podcast at the time. I took a break from tech last Sept (calling it a partial retirement for now 😂) to follow my long-awaited life tangents that are teaching me what to learn and unlearn. Really happy to see Kelsey speak again. Thank you 🙏
