I saw a video Elyse Meyers made and she talked about how while pregnant she could only give 20% because she was so exhausted. So she just decided that 20% was her new 100% so that she wouldn't feel like a failure for not having all of that energy. If I ever get pregnant I'm gonna try to remember that. ❤️

I had my daughter at 20. 8 years ago, I started watching Cody and Noel while I was pregnant and soon after, I became a fan of Kelsey and their relationship. Seeing them go from dating, to get engaged, married and now being parents has been such a blessing ❤

I genuinely thought people over exaggerated just how intense & unpredictable pregnancy emotions are, but boooooi did I get humbled. I just had my son two weeks ago(rly curious if we delivered the same day maybe) & the first trimester killed me. I lost 30 pounds from not being able to hold anything down and being so sad that I couldn’t eat that I didn’t want to eat. I was also sad because I was sooo hungry all the time, but I felt like I was wasting food & money. So my second trimester happiness came from being able to eat again and that made me feel like me lmaoo. Pregnancy makes your own body feel so foreign, it’s so weird.

I barfed until 18 weeks 😢 was awful. I’m also a night shift RN in the NICU so I was constantly seeing horrendous births and sick babies. I would have preemies that were 29 weekers as my patients and also be 29 weeks pregnant. Super weird.

I’m almost to the third trimester with my first baby and I still don’t know when I’ll get that me feeling back :( I love my baby girl and I’m happy to be pregnant. It’s difficult to have this wide range of things happening to your body that you have no control over when or how they happen. My husband explained to me that my body is working at 35% energy, and everything else is going to her, so just to not be so hard on myself and just to try to relax and take care of me.

^^^ This! And if you still have major issues with your range of emotions, low-lows with no highs and feeling unlike yourself or having dark thoughts, PLEASE don't be afraid to talk to your OB about possible postpartum depression. My mom had it when I was a baby and didn't get the help she needed because she had already dealt with depression most of her life, but it really damages your ability to connect with your child. To this day she doesn't really understand how her lack of interest in my childhood affected me negatively. That said, I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly and that you and hubby have the best time with your little one! Congratulations, and I'm sure that you're going to be an amazing mom :) Your girl will be lucky to have a parent who listens to herself and is aware of her own needs, too!

Lol, my dad had 6 children in total. He couldn't even remember my birth month. He did remember his eldest son's birthday and the second son because his is Xmas eve. That's it. My dad also didn't know our ages. Dad had me quite late in his life (20 year difference between my parents) and had some health issues. I will cut him some slack on that stuff. As long as your needs are met and you feel loved, that's all that really matters.

@@maddieb.4282parenting nowadays is very different compared to even a decade ago. These days it's very much encouraged for fathers to take an active role in child rearing. In the past it was seen as the mothers place to see to the day to day child rearing while the father had to provide the paycheck. My dad was still in that old school way with my mother (his second wife). His first wife left him alone with multiple children to take care of and he had to become both mother and father to them. So it's interesting how he switched back to the old roles when my mother entered the scene. For the record I think it's both parents equal responsibility to raise their child and be involved in all aspects of the child's life. I'm just saying life was very different.

I am 28 with 3 little girls. My mental health was put to the ultimate test during/after pregnancy with all of them. After my first I tried to end it all. Luckily it was then that I was able to get a grip on it so it wasn’t so bad the other two times. The cloud was still there though. My youngest is 3 now and I finally feel like ME, not just an emotional mom. Parenthood is the most wonderful thing but also the hardest most emotionally and physically and mentally straining thing you’ll ever do. I watch you guys all the time, I have been for YEARS (haven’t missed a Cody ko episode in years and I adore Kelsey so much haha). But you guys got this, you both seem like awesome people and your baby is going to be super loved.
