Elohim doesn't mean "gods" many it means one God. Truly Elohim means power which applies to both god and creatures. El or Elah means God singular Strictly and Clearly. And, Elim means Gods plural strictly.

Judaism is its own religion with its own origins. It did not evolve out of other religious expressions. The Tanakh does not forbid the worship of other deities - it just asks you to be respectful of Them and God. You cannot worship evil beings, deitirs you create to spite God or your culture's deities, and you cannot make nasty images of Them. The Tanakh encourages you to practice ancestral and cultural traditions. Judaism itself osnt about anything other than the worship of the Creator deity. It's 3,000 years ago. You are in pain, doctors have tried everything. Everything is used to take your pain away. A lot of Near Eastern religions are based upon the organization of those cities.

@@crackula7958 that doesn't imply relation. There isn't a Hebrew polytheistic tradition. People who make claims that Judaism evolved out of worship of other Canaanite deities are trying to smear Abrahamic religions so they don't have to buy Christian hell or Christianity's origin of religion - which is all fanfiction based on perverted texts. It also follows suit they attempt to explain the existence of deities as something man has created without an explanation outside of their exposure to Christian monotheism. I am Jewish amongst other practices and we are not the only people in the world with a connection to God. Anyone can go to heaven or hell and the English edition of all Bibles is all inaccurate. It is a literary tradition to mistranslate all of the text - a huge problem in academia worldwide. There is Adonai and there is El. The text says God and all deities created the world. That's what it says. El is another deity or if God is referred to this in the Bible, it's probably not for a good reason. Yahweh the same. Humans hate being told what to do. If you want confirmation Christianity and Islam are shit and you're not going to hell for disagreement - they rely on fanfiction. That's all.

The idea of not worshipping anything other than god is because if you are worshiping anything else your priorities/beliefs/values will be either conflated or contradict. If I want money then I must work and sacrifice my free time but if I want my free time then I must sacrifice money. I cannot have both. Just as you cannot worship the true god, ba’al and moloch.

@@crackula7958 @crackula There isn't a unique Hebrew polytheistic tradition. I am sure we have worshiped any number of deities at some time or another or you will find it in Israel or wherever we have been. The only thing we have in common is this religion - which encourages you to practice the religion of your culture and background aside from it. I hope you are able to read Hebrew because every copy of it in English is all mistranslated, as is all Christian texts. Names are no good in these texts. And always be careful
