What Makes a Good Kids Horse? Join horseman, Ken McNabb, as he goes straight to the kids for their perspective with interviews from a group of kids 6-17 years old about their horses and helps give pointers on purchasing the right horse for your child.
When shopping for a good kid’s horse should the following be your top picks of importance?
Color?
Pedigree?
Speed?
Winning?
The answer is no! What is MOST important is SAFETY. Is the horse best suited to your young rider at their age? You must find a horse they feel safe on and that fits them where they are. This will build their confidence to want to ride anywhere and go do anything.
Should you buy your child an unbroke horse so they can advance and learn together? No, we have a good saying that goes “Green on Green Makes for Black on Blue.”
ALWAYS REMEMBER: we ride to smile! Make sure your child is having fun.
Until Next Time, May God Bless the Trails You Ride ~Ken McNabb
