KZitem is great! I couldn't figure out how to get the knob off, and after watching two other videos that showed completely different ways of holding the knob on, this video showed perfectly how it is on my machine! Everything else about my machine and timer is different, but that part was a great help; something I likely never would have thought of. Thank you!

Thanks to this video, we replaced the timer on our old mechanical Sears Kenmore Elite washing machine, identical to the machine in the video. Machine would stop in the middle of the spin cycle, then start spinning again after a few minutes. It appears to have fixed the problem. The timer is not cheap however. Will see how much longer my machine lasts. :)

This looks like a Kenmore 80s washer. Is this so? If not, will the timer that you are selling fit in a Kenmore 80s washer?

My knob won't move the cycle indicator any longer. Is this a knob problem or an internal timer problem?

Hey, I have a similar Kenmore model (No. 11022994101). Thanks to your video I was able to take it out and replace the timer but it seems like the timer wasn't the issue because it's still persisting. Whenever I start my washer it immediately skips to a wash cycle without even pouring the water or anything, so it just spins back and fourth. Any idea what this could be caused by?

Maybe the water level sensor is stuck and thinks the tub is already full of water.

@@mikemorrmikemorr This is the key on this one. That is all that keeps it from going into wash mode when first enabled.

Actually just looked this up, I forget there is a solenoid that can go wrong in there too, but this would usually cause the opposite, where the solenoid doesn't fire, it never kicks into a wash mode. I suppose it could be possible that the solenoid could have gotten stuck into the on mode, but this is very doubtful. This solenoid is usually in the middle underneath the control panel. Anyways 1 year later I suspect that the unit is working now. Just leaving advice for others who may have this issue later. :)

That knob is nothing like the one on my Kenmore 500-series. How do I remove the knob on this washer? The new timer doesn’t have a screw-thread like this one does. It has a plastic clip. How do I un-clip the plastic clip without breaking it?

I think the complication of this repair is less about replacing the timer, than being able to figure out that's the bad part. This is an pretty complex mechanism.

Yeah that is what I am dealing with too. And man are the replacements overpriced. I could find a used one of these for about 100 more. I junked one and never though to strip off the timer, and now mine wont kick out of agitate to the spin cycle sometimes and the motor gets stupid hot from it if we forget. Turning it on and off again (pulling the switch in and out) fixes the issue 100% of the time, so I suspect there is something internally that I can fix.

Oh wow. A 3 inch black plastic (almost looks like a stiff zip tie) fell out of the back of the timer. This allowed the cap to be pulled off the front. ??
