At the funeral mass for Edward Kennedy, Ted Kennedy Jr. speaks about the effect his father had on him. Kennedy Jr. also mentions how proud he is to share the same name as his late father.
Ted Kennedy Sr. gave one of the most famous eulogies ever heard when he spoke at his brother Bobby's service in 1968. I believe that, today, his son has done every bit as well, because he eulogised his father by recalling a rare, and moving moment that affected his life on such a personal level. Ted Sr. must be so proud. RIP

I can relate to Teddy JR story…I am dyslexic and I was told by a teacher when I told my classmates I wanted to be a nurse…the teach told me that I was not intelligent to go to college! It devastated me! After not sleeping because I knew it was my parents dream that my sister and I would go to college, I confessed to my mother what my teacher said. My mother without hesitation said to me Heidi, I know you will do it, you have the gift of determination, without that gift even the smartest person will not be successful. It was hard work by I have been 36 years registered nurse with my bachelor degree. My parents were fantastic with advice and encouragement and have encouraged my children, co-worker, and nursing student thru the years.

Watch George W Bush eulogizing GHW Bush. It was really touching. Fathers and sons. Teddy was left so many children and responsibilities that many can’t fathom. He never expected 3 older brothers to die and his father stroked out. He was in his 30s when this happened. I have no doubt he carried Mary Jo around the rest of his life. And he likely tortured himself over it. I’m a conservative and I admire how he hung in there and kept helping people. Time tells the truth of people. Ted wasn’t a showboat. He made a difference to no benefit to him.

Ted, your Dad is so proud of you! Met Teddy Sr and Jr. during '80 campaign and met my future wife there as well. Two years later we were married. Two days before our wedding we received a telegram of congratulations from Senator Kennedy. My heart breaks at the loss, both personally and for America. God Bless You TED.

Why is it that every time I hear one of the Kennedys speak, no matter which one of them, they leave such an indelible impression, no matter what the subject? One can't help but almost hang on every word they say. Don't get me wrong, I am aware of this family's flaws but God they are all so eloquent, confident, oozing greatness but grounded. An amazing family, a cut above the rest although they never come across as feeling that way. I have no words to describe it exactly. "Full of class" is an understatement.

Beautiful & moving eulogy for a truly great man, who so thoroughly redeemed himself & atoned for his early-life blunders that he deserves the respect & gratitude with which he will be remembered. My favorite part was the priceless lesson of how he built up Ted Jr's confidence & resilience after losing his leg at age 12 & taught him how to survive it & live his life. Very inspiring!

So down to earth...good stock. I am grateful to have listened to you. You have turned into the kind of person he would be so happy that you are carrying the torch for him, for you and for us all. Wonderful speech. Heartfelt and courageous, buoyant and emotional yet it maintains that Kennedy trait of service to others. You nailed it. God bless you and your family....

@ConservativeInk Oh, and BTW-towing the party line is not always the wise thing to do, as a legislator owes the public not only his service, but his good judgment. The current Congress is so divided that it reminds me of Lincoln's House divided speech. The deadlock is killing this nation far more than any one itinerant politician could. Ted was always very good at wheeling and dealing behind the scenes-how do you think he got his name on all those bills??
