Thank you for posting this video. This show was stunning, disarming even. For me, the star of the show was the burnt orange shaped canvas at 1:08 but that green Modrianesque canvas was persuasive in an oddly perverse, persistent way. It's not red, yellow, and blue. It's green, really green, like a big elegant f-you to the Dutchman. The art world is filled with "content," as if painting is only as good as its explanation or statement. We've wavered from beauty. We've wavered from semiotics. Kenneth Noland has been lost in the conversation, as he was during his prime. The likes of Ellsworth Kelly and Agnes Martin deservedly reign supreme. It's nice to see Kenneth Noland, however, who has a sensitivity to paint and canvas unmatched by his blue chip rivals, have his day in the sun. Like Matisse, Kenneth Noland's work is too pretty and too decorative for American tastes. We like thing's sensible. It's a shame. We don't deserve Kenneth Noland.
