Tittle Tattle by Martyn Hesford With Adam Godley, David Charles and Janine Duvitski and Marcia Warren. It is 1964 and the Carry On films are at the height of their popularity. Kenneth Williams is taking his mother Louie out for afternoon tea to celebrate her birthday. He makes sure it is in a select tearoom - Derry and Toms. But who does he bump into? None other than fellow Carry On actor Charles Hawtrey and his mother Alice. Charles is meeting a director about an upcoming film, but is being very secretive as to who this mystery person is. Director/Producer Gary Brown This play was broadcast on April 21st 2014 via BBC Radio 4. I had to do a web search to find the full cast and date. Godley's performance as Williams is fairly uncanny here; I've seen TV programs and talk show interviews with Kenneth, and some of the _Carry On_ movies. He was such a witty and refined fellow but he could also become a bit naughty when he told jokes about farting and such. And truly, one of the greatest speaking voices in the entertainment world.

Recall hearing this when first broadcast. Kenneth is absolutely spot on - on a par with Michael Sheen's excellent portrayal in 'Fantabulosa'. Very entertaining!

Do you reckon? I thought it was a Radio 4 play but maybe it was a fortuitous recording of an actual meeting. Quelle chance!

@@phonotical You can try and backtrack but look what your first comment was - 'utter fiction'. No shit, Sherlock. What were you expecting from a Radio 4 play?
