Around noon of Wednesday the 12th of July, Kennewick fire units received a report of a residential structure fire in Kennewick. From scanner audio, Kennewick fire units arrived and saw smoke coming from the back yard and found the fire burning behind the home. From a news release, the fire had damaged 80% of the home, and unfortunately, a dog had passed away after firefighters attempts to resuscitate it. No one was reported injured, both of those who owned the home and of responding crews. Units seen here in order are Engines 1813 and 1815, Medical Officer 181 and Ladder 1812, Engine 1814, Engine 1126 of Benton County Fire District 1, Training Officer 181 and another staff vehicle, and Engine 1712 of Richland. Other units who responded but not shown were Engine 1811, Medic 1822 and 2822 of Pasco, Kennewick Police, and Battalion 181 and Marshal 181. Engine 2813 was also called, but canceled before arrival. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
