I used to live in K'ville and when UT would be on tv my friends and I would mute the tv and listen to John Ward call the game on the radio. I heard this song and got goose bumps. I play this song at the start of every football season and I still get 'em. Thanks John! "He's to the 20, the 15, the 10, the 5, do you see a flag? I don't!...GIVE HIM 6!

One of the best men and most iconic voices in College football. My friends and I would to him every Saturday. On the way back from Knoxville we would listen to Larry Munson when Georgia was playing. Great voices and colleagues.

Man, I listen to this song at the start of every season and it still gives me goose bumps. I remember when I lived in Knoxvegas and when the game was on we would mute the TV, turn on the radio, and listen to John Ward call the game. He was better than any TV announcer. So, thank you John...and Kenny. Awesome song...and memories. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

I was lucky enough to be there against Vanderbilt in 2017 sitting in the end zone where he was brought out and honored in what turned out to be his final send-off. It was the lone highlight in an otherwise abismal 4-8 season. It's ashamed that with all the great teams and big wins he called his final curtain call came at halftime of a loss to Vandy. R.I.P. JON WARD there will never be another. A true Volunteer at heart

Yeah I had a cousin who was a grad assistant from 94-99, I had 50 hardline tickets when we beat Florida in 98, I think it was 20-17. My parents when to all the BCS bowl games UT was in. I still remember Kirk herbstreight picking us in 98 with the word “respecT” with the t being a power T. Maybe one day we can get back there. I personally think it’s as easy as hiring Hugh Freeze. Freeze is a PROVEN coach. I mean look what he’s done with liberty. Our administration is full of the “good ole boys” who would rather help a friend out than make the tough call to do what’s best for the university. We will come back one day, when we get the right dude with a set of monster balls in there who is willing to do what it takes.
