I adored Kenny right back at the very start, in his days on Radio London with Dave Cash (The Kenny and Cash Show). I never lost faith in him, even when he fell out of favour with the media cognoscenti who reviled him in later years. He made me laugh so much I cried. Although he was gay, it never occurred to me that this was his mindset - and it made no odds to me when I heard this. I remember seeing this TV appearance when it was shown, and never forgot. When the war ended the authorities did everything the could to return the POW's home as quickly as possible and returned many by aircraft. G'day RJB, In the unlikely event that someone asks you, "What was Kenny Everett really like?" point them towards this video. Clive James merely asks some simple questions of Kenny, yet Mr Everett must have been in a revelatory mood. In the space of just five minutes Kenny happens to blurt out or not blurt, his innermost feelings; verbalising some, others he just signals by his silence and mannerisms. It's possibly the most revealing clip of Kenny Everett I've ever seen, and I've seen everything he's ever had broadcasted. This five minutes could keep a coach load of psychiatrists working on their post doctoral qualifications for years. And, it's a hoot. RIP Kenny and Clive. Cheers, BH
