Thanks for replying! Only machine that can even come close to those Tz 500's are the venerable Kawa H1 500 and H2 750..!! I owned and rode a triple in the mid 70's and could never get off that bike! Hail to the widow maker 2 Stroke/ Kawasaki H2 750......

It appears that we get a couple brief glimpses of the new (current) turn 2 being laid down. That dates this footage as being taken in the months between Laguna Seca's 1987 and 1988 racing seasons. The low sun angle also suggests this timeframe.

When they brought back GP racing to Laguna Seca I can't remember how many years in a row I went and saw some awesome racing. Unfortunately I also witnessed Bubba Shoberts' career ending crash.

This was taken before they reformatted Laguna Seca Raceway. The old high speed circuit.

Yes, this is the original 1.9-mile, 9-turn circuit. It was much faster in terms of average speed, and had a lot less run off room!

Ricardo Juliet Yea,much more dangerous. A few high speed bends that the 500’s would get rear wheel spin while leaned over and high side the riders.

I'm in favor of rider safety but not so much the coddling. It was more interesting for fans when teams worked under tents and canopies instead of hiding inside closed garages.
