Every time I hear this song I am reminded that I am a very lucky guy. Shortly after arriving at the University of Nebraska as a freshman in the fall of '55 I met a beautiful blonde coed at an hour dance at my dorm. Neither one of us had that "big bell' moment of attraction that many people dream about. A couple weeks later we met again at another hour dance at her dorm. This time we both sensed how well we danced together, found we had similar interests and enjoyed each others company. We soon became steady dates which usually included a Saturday evening visit to a dancehall called East Hills located in a suburb of Lincoln I've since heard the dancehall closed years ago. Fast forward two years of dating, becoming engaged and then getting married in August, 1957. As with most marriages we've had our share of good times and trying ones but we always managed to work things out and stayed together. We will be celebrating our 65th anniversary in a few months and we both are aware that we were fortunate to find each other so early and to share our lives together for several decades. My wife's hair is now a lovely shade of silver and I still see her as the beautiful coed that I met on that campus so many years ago and fell in love with.......and still am. As I mentioned at the beginning of this tale - I am a very lucky guy! Sorry about such a long story.

My husband died February 4, 2019 just 67 days ago. We were married 57 years and 67 days when he went to be with Jesus in Heaven. We both loved music so much so it is very hard to listen to our favorite songs. Oh my God I miss him so much, but I know he is with you and I will see him again as you promised. Thank you Jerry for your love for me through the years. Your wife forever, Marina Linda

My Dad passed away at age of 47 of cancer. I was only 17. A few years ago my mom passed 7 years ago. This song was my mom and dads 25th anniversary song. When I got married I chose this song for the Mother and Groom song. I became a DJ myself and have been for over 30 years, always think of my mom and dad when I play this song at a function. Funny thing is this song will always pop up randomly, whether it be KZitem or a playlist . I sometimes wonder if it’s a sign from my parents, just to say hello!!!

One of my favorite songs by Kenny Rogers. I was just a young teenage girl back in the 80's, and Kenny Rogers is my favorite male country music artist. I miss him so much! maybe, "everyone" WAS a fan of them. It just draws out the memories from people when someone who is part of their past (if not but just a musical memory), passes away. We are entitled to remember the good times or whatever times we had that takes us back to memories of a person and how they influence us or affect us. I was more influenced by John Denver than I was by Glen Campbell, but when I hear songs I have all but forgotten about that Glen sang, I can't help but think back to those days where I was affected positively by that iconic music. I remember watching a special on TNN that included tons of hall of fame musicians, one being Glen Campbell.... Glen sang a song by Roy Orbison that EVERY ONE of those stars he was sitting with knew by heart. Glen gave one helluva impromptu performance. Had people riveted. Take a listen: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pm-Q0paDfadng44
