I am totally obsessed with Kenny Vaughn. He is sublimely talented, serious, funny, and articulate when he plays as well as in interviews. He is a prime example of what can happen when you continually improve on your instrument. There are so many great, great guitar players in this world and Kenny, for me, fulfills all the demands put on a competent instrumentalist. He is my favorite no matter what he's playing.

One of the best things in this video is when he finishes his solo and returns to the theme at 6:25, and then he glances up at the audience as if to say, "Well, how'd ya like that?" Someone in the audience then obliges with a heartfelt shriek. 😆

I love those ES-125s My grandpa bought me one brand new ES-125TCD in 63 when I was 3.. he knew I was going to be a guitar player. He kept it put away until I was 32 and gave it to me. I’m now 64 and still have it and it’s still new condition.

I met Kenny on the trail of a Colorado State Park. I didn’t know who he was, but the fact that he was wearing a cowboy hat, carrying around his neck a Martin D-41, and dressed much as he is here told me he must be somebody. We talked for ten minutes or so and he headed for the parking lot. Not three minutes later, two men emerged from the trees, one carrying an acoustic guitar and the other a pro video camera. They were friendly and greeted me and I said “Hi Marty.” He was genuinely humbled and asked, “You know me?” I said, “Well, I talked to Kenny back there on the trail.” No autographs were gathered, but they both bent down to pet my little dog companion and that’s better than any signature in my book.

With Marty, he plugs straight into a black-face Princeton Reverb. Other times: I saw an interview he did where he has two small pedalboards he uses interchangeably. Both have a drive pedal, a compressor, and a delay. I’ll try to dig it out and give you the specifics. EDIT: I just re-read your comment and noticed you were instead interested in all his guitars. I’d love to see that too, though I’ve seen him say his collection is actually pretty small: a few Teles, a couple Strats, and a few other Fenders and hollow bodies.
