I don't know how you got so lucky as to stumble upon this band by accident, but you are going to be glad you did! These guys were massively popular from the 80-90s. They were widely regarded are one of the greatest live bands in the world. You can check out anything from their live at Wembly Stadium performance in 91, but I can start you off by recommending "What You Need." The band name is pronounced In excess, btw.

Michael Hutchence (Lead singer) was an Australian singer, songwriter, and actor who co-founded INXS, which sold over 75 million records worldwide until his death. The band had so much more to give, but the spark and charisma of the band faded with his death. RIP Michael Hutchence.

I can't believe you're doing INXS. They're special man. One of the biggest bands in the world mid 80's-early 90's. If you want to see something crazy check out the "Suicide Blonde" performance from Wembley 1991. Watch 72,000 people bouncing as one!

Filmed In Prague, Czechoslovakia, in 1987, when that nation was still under Communism. I was studying in my year-abroad, in 1989-90, in Luxembourg, when the revolutions took over the East’. When I got to Prague in March 1990, I had these flashbacks, that I had been in the old City before…locations. It wasn’t until later, I realized it was this INXS video. One of my favorite songs by this band, along with “Don’t change” and “Disappear”.

INXS (a phonetic play on "in excess") .... The tragic final days of INXS’s Michael Hutchence - ‘nicest guy in the world’ “He wanted to start a publishing company. And he wanted to get an apartment in New York,” Troup told The Post. “That’s what he said to me.” Hours later, as Troup was running errands in New York to fly to meet the “Need You Tonight” singer in Australia, things suddenly took a dark turn. Hutchence left her two chilling answering machine messages. “He goes, ‘Things aren’t good, you know?’ And then the next one was like, ‘Hey, are you there?’ In the second one, it was more like he was tired. It was, like, almost sadness I heard in his voice.” Hours later, on Nov. 22, 1997, Hutchence was found hung by a snakeskin belt in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Sydney, Australia. A maid found him naked and in a kneeling position, and, although his death was ruled a suicide, there were rumors that it was due to autoerotic asphyxia. The rock star - who had a Mick Jagger-meets-Jim Morrison aura captured on hits such as “New Sensation” and “What You Need” - was just 37 years old. Sadly, at the end, Hutchence lost his battle with the demons inside. “He was in pain,” said friend Dorothy Carvello, who met Hutchence while working at INXS’s label, Atlantic Records. “When he spoke, he was in pain.”

INXS we’re a brilliant Australian band I still remember the day Hutchence passed away, I was just up the road at the time and heard all the sirens 😢 However to Australians, they weren’t near as popular as our best ever rock band Cold Chisel who rocked us out from the late 70s to the present. Cold Chisel’s lead singer Jimmy Barnes was great mates with Hutchence and they sang together many times. Many reactors have commented that Barnes had the better voice. The only reason the world didn’t know of Cold Chisel was because the American recording industry tried to force them to change their image and style and they refused, preferring to stick to their authentic selves and make music down under. They broke every Aussie rock band record under the sun, and Australians loved them more than any other band. We love our INXS and AC/DC too don’t get me wrong, but Cold Chisel should have been a world wide sensation. All the top American reactors are now discovering them- better late than never. @thatsingerreacts rates Jimmy Barnes as in the top 3-4 male vocalists of all time. For anyone who wants to see Jimmy Barnes perform with INXS look up Good Times live at Wembley. Anyone who wants to check out Cold Chisel look up anything from the Last Stand concert or the Ringside concert. Please. I’m begging you 😂 ❤❤❤
