Die zweite Hälfte meiner Reise 2023 zu Fuß um die Iveragh-Halbinsel in Irland - die meiste Zeit auf dem berühmten Kerry Way, benannt nach der Grafschaft Kerry (und dem noch berühmteren Ring of Kerry). In diesem Teil geht es vom Dromid Hostel in Killeenleagh (Mastergeehy) vorbei am Lough Currane und dem Isknagahiny Lough, über die Windy Gap nach Caherdaniel, mit einem Abstecher über das Staigue Stone Fort nach Sneem, weiter an der Kenmare River Bay entlang nach Blackwater und Kenmare, um dann zum Schluss über den Old Kenmare Road Trail noch einmal in den Killarney National Park einzutauchen und über den Torc Waterfall und Muckross Abbey zurück nach Killarney (und zum Flieger) zu gelangen. Insgesamt wurden auf dieser Reise 230 Kilometer zu Fuß zurückgelegt! Die meiste Zeit war leider sehr schlechtes Wetter, was schlicht einer vorangegangenen Trockenperiode geschuldet war.
The second half of my 2023 trip on foot around the Iveragh Peninsula in Ireland - most of the time on the famous Kerry Way, named after County Kerry (and the even more famous Ring of Kerry). In this part we go from the Dromid Hostel in Killeenleagh (Mastergeehy) past Lough Currane and Isknagahiny Lough, over the Windy Gap to Caherdaniel, with a detour via the Staigue Stone Fort to Sneem, further along the Kenmare River Bay to Blackwater and Kenmare, and then finally delve into Killarney National Park again via the Old Kenmare Road Trail and return to Killarney (and to the plane) via the Torc Waterfall and Muckross Abbey. A total of 230 kilometers were covered on foot on this trip! Unfortunately, the weather was very bad most of the time, which was simply due to a previous dry period.
