At crucial game moments especially in the final seconds, minor fouls can be just let go but that was no minor foul at all. Durant got a lot of contact with that shot and really costed them the game. Not just a game but a game that could've escalated their seed and avoided the Lakers in the playoffs.

@don1shorty well analyzed, I did managed to see different angles of the play in different videos. It was clearly a no-foul.. I respect Kevin Durant, Oklahoma have been great in defeating the Jazz in four-straight games and this was the first time Jazz wins against them again. I want the Jazz win but they have been playing nice and clean. If this was to happen to the Jazz I would be furious, my only bottom line is let us all see in the playoffs. Kudos to the OK Thunders..

@joeyheisman3 I definitely know what you mean. Nearly all players in the last second decide to throw themselves into the defender while flinging the ball up actually expecting the call intead of actually taking a decent shot. And sometimes the ref have the nerve to call it. Like what JR Smith did against the Warriors once. But Kevin had a look and took a shot that wouldn't surprise me if he made, and there was a foul that seriosuly effected his shot.

@tRoss87 I am just saying its justice because a very similar thing happened to the Jazz against the Thunder earlier this season. From the angle I saw and on the replays of the play where Durant drove and got fouled it looked like a bad call. I didnt have it DVRd though, so Ill trust you on that. I also didnt see Boozer open his mouth and talk I just saw him staring Ibaka down, which is still dumb, but not deserving of a T.

there are many times in the NBA where the referees make no foul calls late in the game and allow the players to just play (supposedly to avoid biased judgment when the game is so close down the line that perhaps the wrong/right call may determine outcome of the game). but this was just uncalled for. that was beyond a clear and obvious foul and the referee was right beside the play as it occurred. durant should have been awarded the 3 free throws.

@joeyheisman3 I understand what you're saying. Desperate long shots aren't very favorable when it comes to calls but the thing about desperate shots in the last second is that most of them involve the shooter driving his body into the defender while in the air, sacrficing a decent shot for a call with hardly any contact. Those are the type of calls that shouldn't. But Durant didn't do that. Thunder had a set play. Kevin came off a screen and had a look you know it's not hard for him to make.

@holeydonut they showed plenty of replays after the excitement died down. and in the post game they admitted their was contact... but sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles, happened to the Jazz against OKC three weeks ago.

well, there were definitely contacts, but i would not go as far as saying its an obvious foul. It seemed to me the contact was initiated by both players' hands, so I'd not be surprised the call would have gone either way. It's just that Durant was on the unfortunate end of this grey area. It's a very good game though, DWill and Durant were monsters tonight.

Miles on the Thunder's Kevin Durant during a 3-point shot attempt," NBA president of league and basketball operations Joel Litvin said in a statement. LoL. Retired Genius, put on your goggles.

NBA Refs "missed" the call? You don't miss something that obvious, they REFUSED to make the call. This happens every day in the NBA, the home team always gets the better treatment. The Refs are human beings, they don't like being booed by the home crowds. They play to the home crowds, that's why "home court advantage" exists.

You're only going off the intensity of the game the announcers and KD. In that situation Durant needs to make the shot, meaning get over the defender and avoid the contact. No ref wants to end the game on free throws. Even if it was a foul nobody would call that. Unless Miles tackled him.

They don't decide games but they have a huge impact on the games. Use your head. The NBA wants to get money, they would use the refs to influence games with high markets like LA, NYC, Chicago, etc. The NBA would definitely not use refs to influence teams like Utah because it wouldn't result in a profit. The NBA is all about profit.

Duran'ts constant exaggeration and getting sent to the line time after time after time after time through his cheap move of ripping his arms through a stationary defender's cost him on that one. Yeah, there was probably a foul on that one but his exaggerated body motion on a slight touch lost him all credibility.

The worst refs in the NBA tend to be the oldest and most known refs. And broadcasts always praise them for being one of the best. But how can you tell me that a young ref is less objective than a old ref? The new refs who have no biases and no relationships and less of these idiots like Joey Crawford and Dick Bavetta.
@chitownref

The defender get the ball and Durant's hand. The hand is a part of the ball and is NOT a foul. It's in the rule book. Also in the NBA for the last thirty to fourty years when a defender the blocks the ball first the usually never call a foul on the hit the comes second on the follow through.
