i was at that show i was only 7 years old. remember the old foam belts you could buy, someone ripped my belt by accident and i was crying and when we was leaving MSG i saw kevin nash and he asked me why i was crying and i told him what happened and he told me and my dad to wait right here and he came back out with a real replica belt and gave it to me and he had every wwf wrestler sign it. i still have that belt.

Over the years, I have watched interviews with Nash where I was yelling at the screen in disagreement, but in every clip I have seen from this particular interview I have had so much respect for Nash and his opinions.

Bob and Kevin chain wrestling is absurd. Especially given Bob’s amateur background and Kevin’s height and knees. Both great guys.

I am a huge fan of Kevin Nash aka Diesel I remembered when they first showed him beating Bob Backland for the championship and Kev was already one of my favorite wrestlers at that time because he had been a bad ass his whole time in WWF and when he won the championship, I remember marking out for that moment. Because of course we didn’t see it live, but they did show the match in full on Monday night raw and WWF maniaand other places. They didn’t book him as a champion well but that wasn’t his fault but I always liked big daddy cool diesel as WWF champion.

I understand putting the belt on the big man, but they made Bret look weak having Diesel squash Backlund in less then 10 seconds.

Kevin is always stoned. That had to be his biggest moment in his career. Becoming the WWE champion. It was the biggest and most known wrestling company. Only for about 18 months in 1996-1997. Ntm they had every former WWE star. Including Hogan and Savage. Soon to follow with this man who was fresh off of being the WWE champion and Scott Hall(Razor Ramon), who was just the IC champion. Both were very big huge names. WWE had to rebuild new stars and quickly. It only took Vince a year and a half to rebuild his company and completely blow the WCW out of the water. Ntm WCW did everything wrong that a company could possibly do. It was Nash and Hall going there. Teaming up with a heel Hogan which was genius, and something nobody ever saw. And they basically rode that out as long as they could. With having all the biggest stars becoming part of it.

backlund beat bret hart for the belt at survivor series 94, diesel finally spit with HBK that night. 3 or 4 days later diesel beat backlund at house show at msg for the belt. bob never appeared on tv as champion bc he lost it so fast.
