I NEED TO AGREE! As a pianist/keyboard player I am mystified by the harmony I hear from worship Organists! I get tears in my eyes from this ! Truly God sent!
@TiteTrax
4 жыл бұрын
@@lawrencehodge7085 Yeah, I TOO want to know what they're doing.harmonically during worship music. More importantly, what exercises exist to start getting your fingers to move independently like that? I can hear a lot of diminished movements, but how to practice this eludes me.
@ghdrum

Ah right, I suppose I better start looking for God so I can understand what he's doing then? ....Please.......
@raulflores1019
3 жыл бұрын
@@TiteTrax A lot of it has to do with the harmonics of the drawbars too. White drawbars represent the fundamental tones of the organ, whereas the brown and black bars when pulled out play a 5th and 7th if i recall. So you can essentially build a chord with the drawbars and play said chord while pressing on one key. So this lends itself to building rich harmonic textures that are full and expansive while playing relatively smaller chord shapes. Again not to take anything away from them at all because the Hammond is such a complex instrument. Organists are true masters of their craft.

I have NEVER heard anyone play this type of "shout music" before. Only God Almighty can "install" this in a organist. This brought tears to my eyes. Jesus has much more in store for this organist. I cannot stop listening to this. I almost wanted to know if he had Texas blood in him. Ha!

I promise you this is one mean, powerful, organist in Kevin Powell, i think this dude is the epitome of what a well-versed organist is, not only can he play gospel which is his specialty, but i've also heard him play some jazz stuff and some soulful stuff too i mean you tell to play it his knows it from the go, like when the man asked him to play a"CRAZY" Praise Break he literally played "crazy" i mean from the progressions to the chords that was literally scary. God gifted i tell you.
