I never realized the parallels of Kevin moving to the basement as a teen to get away from Randall VS as adults, when he asks his brother to hang out with him in Randall's basement ❤️

Ashley Matzenbach I was on the verge to cry but after reading your comment I LOL.😂 I remember the clips of these previous episodes of Kevin and Randall. They were tear jerkers for me, but the way you stated your observation made it lighter. 👍 My comprehension is probably off! 😂

While it's good they are mending fences, it's just kinda sad they wasted 36 years being at odds. That's a long time

I like the fact that surface level it appears that the issues stem from the adoption and race....as their relationship is exposed your realize it's truly about two brothers who have not invested in their relationship

Kevin Teppo is a former Jehovah's Witness whois trying to start up houses for former Jehovahs Witnesses and ends up attempting to take their money. He managed to steaL $12000 from me in Feb 2009, which was all the retirement funds I had left, and this ended up pushing mew out on the Streets of manhattan beach starting in August of 2019. Because of this I wandered homeless in Manhattan Beach for 4 months with no food or car or a place to sleep, all because I would not join his devious movement.

Kevin and Randall have the most complex brotherly relationship (that might change when Jack's brother is introduced on the 27th) in the whole show, and it's likely my third favorite relationship/bond. (Number one is Jack x Rebecca and number two is Randall x Beth.) I love how their relationship developed over the years, or rather, decades. Teenage Kevin really irked me with how cruel he treated Randall, even when they were teens and should be able to mature past their differences. I gotta say though, I got the popcorn out and sat back when Randall started defending himself and shooting right back at his brother for once. (SPOILERS) In the latest funeral scene, I loved how well-written the dialogue scene was, and how amazingly the younger actors portrayed the characters. "A real man would've stopped Jack from going in." - Kevin. "But you weren't there, Kevin. You're never there for anyone." - Randall shoots right back.

IMO that wasn't fair for Kevin.

Spot on. I thought Randall’s reply during the funeral reception was pretty much perfect. It wasn’t dramatic, it was simply the harsh truth; growing up, Kevin was seldom there for anyone. He was a difficult teen who was mostly contemptuous toward those closest to him (Jack and Randall). Charlotte says in episode Number 1 that Kevin was really nice to her even though she wasn’t really popular, so we know Kevin CAN be nice, just never to those who were closest to him (with the exception of Kate, although we haven’t seen much of that so far). I’m curious to see how Kevin ended up helping Randall get a date with Beth and how their relationship very slowly began to mend. I’ve noticed that the adult version of Kevin seems to rely on Randall (he calls him to tell about his awful Manny contract he can’t get out of, he goes to live with Randall after he quits the Manny, he’s hurt when he finds out that Randall never watched the Manny, and he goes to see Randall to tell him about his addiction before he’s interrupted by Randall to learn about Kate’s miscarriage). I personally think that Randall has so many of Jack’s good traits (he’s kind, compassionate, caring and patient) and I wonder if over time, Kevin has begun to see that in him and sees his brother as the “closest” reflection of Jack in the family and why he turns to him when he feels like he needs direction?

You know, in terms of Kevin's relationships with people growing up, I don't necessarily think he and Jack had a bad relationship at all for the most part. There was always the part of him that wanted a little more undivided, quality attention from both his parents, but generally speaking I get the impression that his nastiness with Jack regarding the AA stuff was more of an exception than the rule, as opposed to his relationship with Randall which was always rocky growing up. I think Kevin loved Jack dearly and always looked up to him as a hero, and yes he had his moments where he wouldn't handle certain things well, and he could get REALLY cutting when that was the case, but on the whole I get the impression that his relationship with Jack was pretty solid. And that's what makes it suck so much worse that the last exchange he had with him happened to be one of his moody teenager moments- something that, under any other circumstances, he would have just seen Jack's note, seen him the next day and said "sorry I was a jerk, I love you too" and that would have been that. As for Randall and the fight at the funeral- I of course hold *nothing* against Randall whatsoever for what he said; Kevin had lashed out in a really cruel way, and especially considering how Randall had bore so much of the brunt of Kevin's lashing out all growing up, he had every right to stand up for himself. But man, just having seen everything Kevin is still dealing with in present day, it stung to know how deep that comment must have cut for him. Unfairly misdirected as it was, I have no doubt that Kevin's anger was only ever truly at himself for not having been there that night. Not that Randall would have realized how deep his guilt ran since he was never able to express it in a healthy way until recently, but still. Knowing that Kevin's been sitting on all that intense grief and guilt for 20 years... what Kevin said to Randall, Randall knew it wasn't fair or true- he knew he didn't have to feel a sense of guilt over what went down that night. But Kevin's sense of guilt for having not been there was so much realer and deeper than Randall could have known at the time. Anywho, it makes me really happy that Kevin has grown so much in adulthood and that he and Randall's relationship has come an *insanely* far way from when they were growing up!! Jack would be so happy about it too

They didn’t explain it will in the therapy scene. Rebecca said that Kevin pushed away after their dad died, but you could see her neglecting him when he was a little kid. I guess I’m the only one who feels bad for him

IRL...Jack and Rebecca would not have been allowed to take that baby home when the other 2 were taken home. There would have to be child service investigations into the adult fitnesses, the economic situation, the housing etc etc. References checked. There would need time for social services for looking for his real family. If the babies were early..what did they weigh and how long did the 3 babies stay in the hospital. There's a lot that doesn't maje sense

I think people watched this relationship thinking we see every interaction between them. I have a brother who was favored and protected by our parents. It caused a lot of tension between us growing up and it still lingers. It doesn’t mean either of us were bad brothers. It means we had ill-equip parents who didn’t realize their constant comparisons fueled our hyper vigilance of the other’s treatment. It makes for us to have heated moments in disagreement over things. It doesn’t mean that he’s not the first person I call when I get Tickets to a game. No one else gets my fucked up way of thinking.
