@@jonothandoeser There is a difference between following principles, and realising when something written two thousand years ago does not actually apply. What you appear to be saying through this quote is that the words of someone who has passed on have no power or relevance after they have died - and this is clearly nonsense! We heed the wisdom of those who go before us, so that we do not have to reinvent the wheel ourselves, and progress in our lives. The post that I made was meant to pay respect, gratitude and admiration to a man who was taken from us all too soon, and contributed a lot in his life in his field. I did everything that you've mentioned in your video. I was looking for a way out so I moved to a state to reset my image, and change who I was in the past. I went to GED school, went to college then got a better job and was able to find a nice apartment. Soon after that I saved money got my credit score up and purchased a really nice home a few years later. Now im looking to move up in my job to where I'm making 130k year..

When I started selling random computer stuff on ebay 4 years ago, I never thought it would compete with a salaried job. Sure I hoped, but I could never even imagine it. 1 year into it, started to barely pickup. 2 years in, getting solid suppliers, picking up some nice side cash. 3 years in, doing 12+ hours every day (maybe 8-10 on weekends). Got a salary job as well. Ebay pulling in 90-100% of the salary job. Work 8a-5p, eat, work ebay 9p-2a, hit the gym, then sleep. 4th year in today. Still have the salary job. Salary job is now only 30% of the total income. Only need to do the long hours when there's a lot of inventory but still 7 days a week. Still exercise every day. Focus on yourself, build your own value, and don't forget about your body too. A healthy body is a healthy mind. Good luck everyone.

Hey my brother just wanted to let you know how much your video “how to level up” blessed my life. I thought I was burning the candle at both ends and wouldn’t see light at the end of the tunnel but you just confirmed that I was on the relight track. Context: I’m 40 years old 7 kids (4 adult kids). I knew I needed to make at least $100k to be comfortable but I couldn’t break the ceiling of $50-$55k. So I decided to get a second FT job. So combined I make a little over $100k. $55k at my evening job and $45k at my day job which is a city job. (I’ll do my 5 years there get fully vested in my pension and @ 60 years old I can start pulling my pension. My oldest son was killed by a drunk driver 5 years ago. After climbing out of a dark depression I decided to chase my dream of getting my degree then going to law school. So not only am I working 90 hours a week but I am also finishing my degree with 18 months left.

I was a single father with two young kids, so sometimes it was hard to work as much hours. But I knew I needed more money. So I cut costs: Got a cookbook and ate at home. Couldn't afford after-school programs so had my kids dropped off at my older sister's house. I went to college four days a week, 8:00 to 1:00, worked from 2:00 to 8:00 at AutoZone. For fun, I took my kids to the park, then the library to check out a book. I grinded for 2 years, saved as much as I could, used my time efficiently. After I graduated, it set me up to make more money and put me on the path to change my life for good. You can do it. Some days you may not have the motivation, but that's OK. Instead lean on discipline. Just put in the work. Even if you don't have the energy or have to do it at a slower pace, just do it.

One thing I’ve learned is majority of the time when people try to tell you How to be successful ESPECIALLY when they’re using themselves as an example they aren’t being totally honest or logical lol. Particularly when people tell you that they did this or that they will almost always leave out some resource, advantage, or information they had that most wouldn’t have or/and something they didn’t have to worry about that most do. All in all, being successful by working yourself to death is possible but not practical or probable. It takes time and is a process. There is no wick and easy way and you don’t have to rush it. You are successful whenever you succeed. You are successful when you get a job making 14 an hour just like you are when you get a job making 90k a year. You’re successful Paying your parent’s rent just like you are paying a mortgage or even buying a home straight out. The key to success is appreciating what you’ve already done and keep passing to be a better YOU not anyone else. Don’t let the internet make you think unrealistically. To be accomplished in life you don’t have to be a millionaire. To be happy you don’t have to have a lot of possessions. Happiness is subjective and requires you to be real with yourself. I’m a black man from the inner city of Chicago born in the early 80s to a single mother. There are things I’ve had to encounter that same men, even those born in similar conditions, didn’t and don’t have to contend with. There are other men who have had to contend with what I have and worse. Our path is our path and what we encounter effects what we do even when it is done by the Book. You just have to keep pushing for YOUR happiness. Chasing what people tell you is happiness is the worst route to take, I’ve done that and witnessed it. This is why you have guys who have everything people tell you a man should have to be deemed accomplished still committing suicide. Those people obtained everything society said they should have and still aren’t happy. If you don’t have anything right now just be real with yourself and ask yourself what does happiness mean to you and what makes you happy. It may take a minute, an hour, a day or a year to find out but when you do then go you go after it. Be encouraged, be strong, and allow yourself to be human. If you fail simply try again. Don’t feel bad if you fail, doing feel bad if you can’t work 16 hrs a day (that isn’t practical, healthy, or logical). Don’t feel bad if you don’t have your own place, car, etc. Be real with yourself, do what you need to do and enjoy the true finer things of life. Go out in nature and just chill for little bit. Get away from people as much as you can and enjoy natural life.
