This book is a classic for it’s time. Back in the 90s when it came out there wasn’t that much information online as there is today. For today, someone can have it as a novelty item yes, but it still has info that I’ve used since then, to today.

Interesting book review. My thoughts are that when this was published, no you tube existed and make up was not as popular nor knowledge of it. But decades later, it's less relevant . Historically, sounds interesting.

@kittyfarkas I agree, I purchased this Kevin Aucoin book in 2000 ( I wrote the date at the first page) and I had no internet at that time. I loved loved loved the book and it still has a special place at my bookshelf. The stories of the portraited people are genuine and I love the variety of models: all colors, men, elder women , teenagers, top models and common women next-door. KA learned me that it is okay to be natural and wear no or little makeup but if you are in the mood for makeup you can master the craft of making faces.
