Thanks for the comparison between the brown and red switches from Keychron. Now I know I'll just slap some Gateron Pro Yellows in there if I want linears.

You're right about the switch lube. Keychron says its pre-lubed but I checked my switches and no they weren't lubed. At least not like pre-lubed Gaterons I had lying around.
@keebface

Mine definitely weren't lubed either. No big deal for me as I was never going to keep them in the keyboard, but if you state that they are prelubed, then they should be.
@keebface
Жыл бұрын
@VitalizeGaming it could be that the base of the spring or something is very lightly lubed. Not too bothered about it as they are not very good switches anyway.

Not the end of the world mate. Set of new switches, or if you're a modder, set of heavier springs, lube, and films is what I'd do with them.
@蛇王-y9b

i always buy a barebone kit only i won't even use their own stabs , if you are into custom board you only have to pay a little more to get better switches and keycaps ,basically is a one time purchase and you hardly have to pay for anything in the future.

The reds aren't that bad. even though they are not that well lubed, if any, they still dont sound scratchy or dry. I got the K Pro Reds, and my only gripe is they are too light. Gonna get some heavy springs like Keebface mentioned. Cos I might as well as get some use out of these switches before I buy new ones.

I just got a same issue for the kpro switches. It’s so tight to pull out and weak plastic. I also tried the yellow one it was the same.
@keebface

Yeh it's weird. Too close tolerance between the plate and the clips I think.
@Nomad-bi6su

Yep they're pretty weak. Crushed one or two switches when pulling out. The bottom housing plastic is too weak.

What would you choose between this keeb and an akko acr 68 pro (the 65% version of the acr75)?

Based on the ACR 75 Pro I would probably go with the Akko over the Keychron.

@@keebface dayum, by a lot? the thing is that I can get anyone at the same price (around 90usd) but the keychron comes from Amazon on a couple days and the akko from AliExpress and it's going to take like a couple weeks plus it's a lot easier for the package to get stolen (here in Mexico sometimes packages get stolen if they hire small and unknown shipping companies, it's not an everyday situation but it can happen and it's a small risk I have to take everytime I buy from AliExpress) so I'm only choosing the Akko if the quality is just so good for me to take the risk and the longer shipping time.
@keebface

@Oscar Naranjo I can only give my opinion when asked for it. I don't like to shirk the question which lots of youtubers do, as you're only asking which I prefer, which obviously doesn't tell you which you'll prefer. You may well prefer the Keychron. I preferred the typing experience with the akko because of the gasket mount and PC plate. Quality is hard to answer. Both are manufactured very well, but with the Akko that acrylic case is much heavier and nicer, has a weight on the back, the badge on the front, and of course the gasket. That's the stuff you don't get with the Keychron, so I guess ask yourself how important that is.

@@keebface thank you i think ill save the akko for a second buid i just love some of the features that come with the keychron like qmk/via, south facing LEDS or the design in general (im not a huge fan of the RGB going through the case like it happens with the akko)

Actually these stabs are really good. You can get away with lubing them only. but I did the Holee mod and they sound just as good as big name stabs. Also since they're screw in, its a tight fit so no need for pads.
