📍Phyl Terry, Founder & CEO, Collaborative Gain, and author of Never Search Alone, and Customers Included. / phylterry
Phyl launched CG's flagship leadership program - The Councils - in 2002 with a fellow group of Internet pioneers from Amazon, Google, and others. Thousands of leaders from the Internet world have come together in the last 20 years to learn the art of asking for help and to support each other to build better, more customer-centric products, services, companies, and careers.
The methodology in Phyl’s latest book, Never Search Alone, is based on working with more than 2,000 product management and general management leaders over the last 25 years. Then starting in 2017 Phyl interviewed 250 job seekers - from college students to CEOs - and then asked more than 200 job seekers to read and test early versions of the book. Those early readers provided more than 2,500 pieces of feedback, which then drove more than 400 major and minor drafts.
In other words, Phyl did a lot of discovery and iteration to create the disruptive and powerful Never Search Alone method.
Phyl has spent close to three decades as a pioneer and leader in customer experience. As CEO of Creative Good from 1999 to 2014, Phyl and the team ran more than 400 projects helping companies like Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, and the New York Times, build digital experiences that delight customers. Phyl was also on the startup team of the first company Amazon bought back in the 90s.
A graduate of the Harvard Business School, Phyl also founded and runs four pro-bono programs - Slow Art Day, Reading Odyssey, the World of Business Reading Group (inspired by the writings of Warren Buffett), and the Never Search Alone community.
