Khayelitsha holds a special place in the hearts of millions of South Africans. Join us as we explore the area with the help of local business owners, entrepreneurs and movers and shakers who are showcasing the best of what Khayelitsha has to offer to the world.
We start and end with Siyanda Sopangisa (co-founder of the Khayelitsha Canoe Club), who shares with us his view that Khayelitsha welcomes everyone with open arms in the spirit of Ubuntu.
Next, we stop by the artisanal coffee shop Department of Coffee, which Wongama Balani (Partner: Department of Coffee) hopes to build up into the Starbucks of South Africa.
At the 18 Gangster Museum Wandile Nqeketho shows us how tourism is helpful to the area. Nomalungelo Sotyingwe (Owner of Lungi's B&B) welcomes us to her B&B where tourist and locals from all over the world can experience true Khayelitsha hospitality.
Entrepreneur and artist Golden Nongauza demonstrates how he creates flowers out of cans and Juma Mkwela (Juma Art Tours) takes us through the streets of Khayelitsha to show us the colourful art around the township.
